April 23, 201114 yr Member JR and Marissa will star in a modern version of the Dennis Quaid/Julianne Moore film Far From Heaven. Things get crazy when Ryan insists only he has the abs for that role. JR garrotes him with a thong.
April 23, 201114 yr Member I heard Myrtle's boardinghouse was always a front, she was really a madam housing hookers... Rumors, Alvin, not actual Robert Guza story projections.

Yes it is...very I floved Linda too on Knots. Her death was brilliant. She was the closet they had to Abby 2.0. It was saddening after she was killed off though.

April 23, 201114 yr Member I know this is a couple pages back, but I've gotten to see a lot of it (yet too little) over the years and I find it amazing that Edge Of Night was a) cancelled and not revived yet. If any existing daytime concept is immediately re-imaginable, it is EON. That show was made for the PC format, for cable, for syndication, for any number of things. It was consistently quirky, vibrant, brilliantly done, with wild characters and ideas, and it was unlike anything else on daytime, then or now. It was IMO the natural evolution of what something like Dark Shadows failed to become. I would kill for DVD sets of some of EON's better storylines, such as the Nola Madison affair. I also have often wanted to see soaps, specifically OLTL, revive the "one-hander/two-hander, etc." special episodes EON used to excel at - special episodes the British soaps, still thriving, still do today. I've said this before, but with the glut of murder mysteries on OLTL in the last decade I would've killed to see a small crossover element in one of them with EON - a former ABC soap - in which a character or two from EON like Nancy Karr or someone popped up from "the Monticello office" to provide Bo or John with a key plot point. April 23, 201114 yr Member I had no idea EON did two-handers, I thought that was an EastEnders innovation. LOL!
April 23, 201114 yr Member Of course, how could we talk about last ever soap scenes without this one from Search For Tomorrow? <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="480" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/_l7kbLbFxMA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> To this day I cannot watch that scene without tears just rolling down my face. I loved those two so much!! Thanks you for posting it.

If any defunct soap (or CBS series, for that matter) were crying out for a "reboot," it would have to be EDGE, especially when you look at what is on TV these days in the way of scripted entertainment. Even something as simple as a weekly primetime series, with a modern-day Mike Karr either solving stand-alone crimes each week, or overarching mysteries either each season, 1-2 per season, or one ginormous one threaded throughout the entire series, could work.
