OLTL: Discussion for the week of April 4

I see what you mean, but since the story is so much about psychological terror I don't know if physicality came into play. I keep remembering how they had that kid terrorize Matthew, and he looked much younger than Matthew.

I can't shake that this casting was mostly to make Jack into their new junior lead, since the Fords haven't been as popular as expected, and the way to start that off, since this is Fronsland, is to have him bully/traumatize people, because that means he's a dreamboat.

Great show today, didn't skip over anything.

Viki and Tea in scenes is always good.

Bo, Nora and Matthew were fantastic. Eddie Alderson and Hilary B. Smith were on the mark.

Blair is taking a very hard line with Jack, which is good, because he's out of control.

Clint is steadily become more tolerable again.

Rex was right for blasting the principal on calling the video a mishap.

I read an interview with Agatha Christie, who obviously was the best authority on murder mysteries and it is impossible to argue with her. She said she always wrote the murder first and that a good mystery only has one possible solution. Soaps never seem to do that, they just write a murder and make sure nobody is accounted for, and then just plug in whoever suits their need.

The whole show seems like rewrites. Ron doesn't know where any stories are going unless it is someone that is pregnant. The whole Ford murder mystery resolution..yawn.....I guess Matthew will be spending a lot of time in prison. The bullying storyline with Shane....oh dear lord.......JPL acting today....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I did like the scenes between Vicki and Tea.

I think all of Ron's storyline conclusions are coming out of his ass ....he has no clue where they are going.

It was explained today that she saw Matthew sitting on the floor next to Eddie's dead body while he was waiting for Clint. But she made a comment that it was horrible that she just left him so I have to wonder if there is more to the story or if that was it.

I mean you can say that, but Jack's little chrony is 4 ft nothing and does a helluva lot of the bullying and Shane could easily flick the kid. CPL was a bit shorter but he had enough of the snarky douche bag attitude that I think he could have done ten times better than this nuJack..Not all bullies are bigger than their victim.

And even before they started focusing on Llanview high, there was Marcie's hazing... not exactly bullying but pretty close.

Now as far as the SORASing and changing the character with the recast... it's a way to drive story, and it always has been. You always have personality changes with recasts, especially SORASing. If they didn't have Jack be the big bad bully, it would have been a newbie... now I'm sure some people would rather have that than a personality 90, but the show probably figures it might as well try to use the cast in some way. I understand it but don't necessarily like it.

What a very schlocky episode today. Viki was the only higher point of it.

After damn near 20 years of parenting, Blair is only just NOW questioning her awful mothering skills? The fact that she has a daughter who had a police record before she was 12 and a baby at 16 should have tipped her off <much> sooner...but it took her hellion son posting a video of a kid naked to switch the light on in her head that, perhaps, she failed. Yeah, okay.

And seriously, that Destiny girl...I don't know how in the hell she's lasted this long, but she needs to go, like tomorrow. The way she whimpered to Bo and Nora like she saw a school shooting was either bad writing, bad acting, or both. And I'm tired of seeing her and Shaun getting together to 'commentate' on the happenings of the episode. I don't even know why they keep them.

Yeah, yeah...OLTL got in those little "dramatic" episodes that they were aiming for. Raw.

Move it along now.
