Oh fo' God's sake. I cannot believe SOC deleted my post about Jessica being a spineless jellyfish. LOL.

All the posters over there were trying to say I was all for Ford and stuff. NO. I'm not. I'm for Jessica getting real for once and smacking a bitch instead of just hiding in her head and falling apart. She's not fit to raise those kids or anything...even a plant! She cracks anytime someone 'offends' her. I have OCD and issues myself. But, do I crack and have DID. HELL NO. They are making mental illness look like a joke and that something that someone can get away with without real interference. Seriously. If this was real life instead of REEL LIFE. Jessica would be in a padded cell and her kids would be raised by the state. <_<

WORD. Unfortunately, I think the writers keep having Tess re-emerge 1) because, the ratings probably went up the first time she was "out"; and 2) because, they probably realized what was obvious to most from the beginning: Bree Williamson makes a much better Tess than she does Jess (and even that's relatively speaking).

Brody should have taken his chances and knocked Ford out cold quicker than he did, at least it would have given him a chance to get Jessica and the baby away from Ford.

Jack isn't a character I care for, but I was glad he unleashed that tirade about the Fords, he was right about James being there.

Natalie was scraping the barrel trying to compare John not telling her about Clint. Did she really think that was even close to being the same? LOL.

Clint didn't shoot Eddie, but he definitely knows who did.

I seriously wish Tess had put up Ryder for adoption while she still had the chance. Imagine: Tess re-emerges, decides everyone would be better off w/o that kid in their lives, then sells him to some online baby broker before going back under again. Then, you have the drama of everyone trying to get Tess to return and reveal Ryder's whereabouts, and either she won't come back, or she won't 'fess up. Then, down the road, a new couple comes into Llanview, with an adopted baby in tow....

When Jessica woke up after finding out that she lost a month's worth of time, the first thing she and Brody should have done is go to the psych ward. What Ford did was awful, how are we supposed to have sympathy for him?

Because, he's "hawt," and hot guys are allowed to treat others like crap. In fact, they're deified for it. On ABC Daytime, that is. ;-)

At the time the show didn't really suggest it was consensual - and even now the rewritten history says that the consent was from an alter created because of sexual abuse.

If she is with Cookie Cutter then it will probably be written more clearly in what the show sees as consensual sex. I don't think they did that with Ford. Not until they decided to make him their new Todd, anyway.

I think the idea is that Ford was just causing Jessica to face the truth about what Natalie and Brody did, and therefore it was fine, because she wouldn't be safe around Brody, and that it proves nothing Ford did to her ever caused her distress.

We're also supposed to believe that he can do anything he wants because he wants to keep Ryder.

Actually, I think that's a pretty fascinating spin on yet another baby story and DID story... the idea of a personality stashing a baby away somewhere and refusing to come back out and reveal it's whereabouts. How absolutely awful and gut-wrenching for the main personality! There's a Helena Cassadine quality to such a tale, something she and Tess would get together and do if Jessica was having a baby by Nikolas.

Hey Brody, thats NOT your son. He came across like such an ass today. Shut up and go home to your kid.

Jessica should have had her ass locked up the minute she woke up. Brody should have taken her to get her legally admitted to St. Anne's with Ford having no say

When I saw Tomas playing piano I thought oh no, now thats going to be perfect set up for Blair to sing for him

Regressica and Ford having sex that night has become grayer than Dorian withholding Victor's heart medication. At first is clearly looked like they hadn't had sex at all, that Jessica stopped it before it even happened. I went along with them and bought that there was partial intercourse when Ford got tested for the Hep C, then the accidental pregnancy, you know, all those dangers they teach you about how easy it is to get pregnant in Health class (why Ford wasn't wearing s condom, I won't even get into). But now they're asking us to believe that in that millisecond we saw on screen, Tess took the wheel and there was full on sex. It did NOT come across that way when that episodes aired. With Brody and Natalie, oh yeah, it was clear as we were reminded by the oft repeated sex moan clip.

OLTL would drive Annie Wilkes (further) insane. "He DIDN'T get OUT of the COCKA-DOODIE CARRR!"

This is another way soaps have spit on good drama. For years OLTL told stories about men who happily raised children who were not theirs biologically. Now this is seen as weakness. Brody is a loser for caring about Ryder, yet McBain is the biggest stud in the world for hating Liam.

BTW, are you all completely convinced that this kid is Ford's? I still see it being flipped at some point down the line, garnering sympathy for "good dad" Ford and freeing him up from the parenthood obligation like they did for Damon on AMC and like they wish they could do for Starr.

    • Agreed. Certainly there was concern maybe even fear at the highest levels for the very good reason that what they had was so economically successful, so of course this risk was scary but if anyone was brave she was. Yes, he was. I have seen her associated with getting it on the air one other place but no details nor official title. Not the writer or creator so it made me wonder if she functioned as a kind of uncredited ad hoc producer, but then maybe she just supported it. At any rate that is nothing but supposition on my part. No data! Yes, not a surprise anymore but still so frustrating! On one hand I am appreciative that she is included in this book, but scholarship where are you?!
    • that wasnt her point. She wanted to further demonize Ted; that was the main focus of their talk. She wants to ensure that Nicole leaves him so that he's free and single to be with her. At this point, I dont think she really cares what Nicole thinks of her; she just wants her out of the way Eva got what she got from Anita bc of Hayley. I think its important to remember that context bc they just dealt with an interloper that infiltrated their ranks and hurt her daughter in the worse way. Now you have another unfortunate girl positioned to do the same to her other daughter. The feelings are still too fresh and she doesnt want Eva to get the idea that she would ever be allowed the opportunity to play them again
    • Oh I've seem this! That's part of why I'm curious! The show could put EastEnders to shame on the gangster Aspect! Oh I've seem this! That's part of why I'm curious! The show could put EastEnders to shame on the gangster Aspect!
    • Eve was one of those characters that had the "Jessie Brewer"role. They had heavy storyline, they burned through it and now they are there for support and a touchstone in the community (Marland wanted to give Jessie story, but I agree with Monty...she best served in her connecting role, and keeping that damn Amy Vining busy so she keeps her nose out of things) So charcters are important and why they should have kept characters like Bridget around (even as she is more volatiles then Eve) who didnt need a big storyline but could have been behind the bar making connections and expostion, but Rauch wanted JEVA/JEVA/JEVA and DRAMA (which to him meant a lot of yelling and stupidity.)
    • Why do I feel like (or remember possible

    • A number of errors in the above article. You wonder how with all that research, how  they slipped through. I think they are conflating Women Alone with Lonely Women. I have never read anything of a serial called Women Alone. However,I am prepared to be proven wrong.   It seems Irna actually WAS interested in TV soaps as witnessed by These Are My Children airing in 1949 on NBC in the early days of TV.   I don't believe that was reluctance, rather simply good business sense as radio's dominance began to wane.   Inferring that was somehow connected to Irna who was off that show 10 years prior.   Again inferring that Phillips leaving 6 years prior had some connection to the eventual cancellation.     Again these two events are in fact one. Irna left ATWT only once in 1970 and returned in 72. She was not working on another P&G show at the time. So either she brought the ratings up or they dipped, depending on which above account you believe   Untrue. A World Apart debuted 5 years after she left AW. And AWA aired longer than a few months. Over a year in fact.   I believe Orin Tovrov was the writer. Irna was not involved in the creation of this show. And no mention of Masquerade an Irna serial  which was on air around this time.   TBD finished in 1962. As we see over and over, these inaccuracies are published and accepted as fact.
    • YES! While I objectively found the writing on RH (particularly during its first few years and then again in its final days) to be excellent, so many of the principle characters were unpleasant, and totally turned me off. I could never settle down and become emotionally involved with a group of people who grated on my nerves.
    • Ugh now we get a Emmerdale and Corrie crossover soon. ugh.. How desperate
    • This show is definitely not one to deserve the axe.  especially the New Year’s Eve episode was crazy wild! there is a place where u can download nearly all episodes from October 2019 til today. But they don’t accept new people. https://youtu.be/aD-IXEJjymU?si=19wtpwthSNYOe-4y   this is from this years winter break when the returned. I loved it
