I remember when people were joking that Franco and others must have a drug problem to do the soaps. I am beginning to think that there may be some truth to this for some of them.

I wonder how long before Charlie Sheen shows up in GC to play another of Victor's long lost sons?

And the countdown to his stint on Celebrity Rehab begins.

Just like that NUTJOB Rowell. Talk about needing to be in rehab!

Well, given that he insulted Les Moonves not too long ago, I'd say it'll be a very long time. ;-)

OTOH...? You know, the Fords on OLTL could always use their "Uncle Freddie." I'm just saying.

I've liked Flanery since having a crush on him in Young Indiana, and I actually kinda like that Y&R is reaching out to non soap actors (though they've all been, to put it politely, past their career prime when it happens so I'm not sure it's all that diff from some past soap hires--and the Franco situation still seems different to me)--I also like that he isn't going to be another rich character, except then how will he interact with them? Always be helping out with their pets?

And I agree with Carl--it seems more like a move to just mask, but not deal with their problems.

Haha. If CBS is done with him, I see him popping up on ABC daytime instead. Oh gawd!

How rich - we got rid of one syndication has been "star" (Goddard) and are getting another one in return... And in a pointless role no less. Well done, Maria!

What would have been cool is if they had hired Mark Collier, like they were supposed to. That would have been cool, this is just lame and pathetic.

The scoop from TV Guide.

He debuts on April 18 as Sam Gibson, He's a country veterinarian, and he'll be paired with sad, love-bashed Sharon.

MAB says he's a wise, decent, working class guy and a big breath of fresh air for the show-he's a nice counterpoint to the men in Genoa City who are sheming and jockeying for power.

MAB says Sharon needs a good man, her self-esteem her self-esteem is the lowest it's ever been and is like a wounded bird, Sam as someone who cares for animals will be sensitive to that.

Oh please. Wounded bird. More like a cat in heat.

Does that mean he'll put her to sleep?

What is all this about how she's never been lower. Wasn't Hamner just talking about how strong Sharon is now?
