AMC: Shannon Kane's status?

One story that Pratt previewed at one point and which I was looking forward to (but which never materialized) was an unlikely friendship between David and Brot. I think that would have been interesting.

I swear I thought she was recurring since they moved out to CA. I believe it about going back and forth when she has time and why not, she's a beautiful and really talented actress who doesn't get half the screen time she deserves on this show. I'd rather go out making movies or guest spots than wait for 5 eps. at a total of 15 mins. worth of air time.

Hopefully they'll write as much for her as they write for Amanda. But usually, once someone goes on recurring, they're done. Hopefully that isn't the case with Natalia.

Yeah this seems fishy to me especially as haven't we gotten an exit date for her as well? I love the character and actress and wish they had done a lot more with her--but I can't blame her if she wants to focus on movies, etc--most soap actors would dream for even the limited success in that format she's already finding...

I hate to see her go, maybe she will find some success in primetime or movies. Her story always remind me Donna Tyler's introduction story when she came to Pine Valley. Maybe they will recast her and bring Cassandra back with Angela.

Yeah, it's all spin. I highly doubt we'll see her again. Maybe, once more to wrap up her storyline with Brot. But once JR's contract expires, poof, they're both gone forever.

Shannon Kane chose not to extend her contract with AMC so will last air on contract on 2/4. They'll make room for Natalia whenever Kane gets time, so she'll be back for visits. DS says Natalia will make a personal reveal and that will essentially lead to her making a choice to leave. We'll see what motivates her.

Damn. I guess they aren't doing the standard 4 year contracts anymore (Finn left after one year).... I guess due to the instability of daytime right now.

I wonder if actors are given "outs" after the first year, where they can choose to extend or not
