December 16, 201015 yr Member EW Good news for fans of Maria Arena Bell's style of storytelling on CBS' The Young and the Restless: She's been named executive producer on the daytime drama, EW has learned exclusively. Bell was named head writer of the sudser in March 2008 and will remain in that capacity as she takes on greater responsibility, which includes leading the writing team and overseeing all creative aspects of the show. Isn't she already an EP at Y&R with Paul Rauch? Is she replacing him or something? IDK. But EW has the scoop. lol.
December 16, 201015 yr Member Yep she is already EP and has been for years now with Rauch. Unless there is another new release about Rauch leaving, this isnt big news imo
December 16, 201015 yr Member Oh well. We'll just suffer years more of her destroying our faves! Edited December 16, 201015 yr by SoapBoy94
December 16, 201015 yr Member CBS doesn't give a flying f*ck about these shows, sadly. Moonves can't wait for Y&R to start showing signs of real fracture, so he can replace it with something cheaper.
December 16, 201015 yr Member That's what I'm wondering, DF. Is Rauch gone? If so, this could be sorta good news, if not basically admitting that Hogan Sheffer & Scott Hamner have been responsible for the sh!tatstic storylines we've been seeing on our screens. Surprised? Well, sorta. Y&R's BIGGEST problem is that it's boring as all get out, and say what you will about Sheffer, but boring is not his forte.
December 16, 201015 yr Member This woman is married into the family, right? All these announcements of her status are jokes. Is her husband even allowed to fire her? I would think not.
December 16, 201015 yr Member I just wanted everyone to know I'm running this show now! They say soaps are gone but I'm still here!! My pashmina collection is breathing a sigh of relief!!! I think Bill is sitting on my shoulder right now saying you go girl!!!!
December 16, 201015 yr Member Except that, all this is weird since some people in that same family don't really like her.

Sheffer and Hamner have stunk for years so I can't see that changing. If there's any change it might be that the black characters can finally have a chance of partying like it's...2007.
December 17, 201015 yr Member Except that, all this is weird since some people in that same family don't really like her. I would assume that feeling is mutual.
