LLB says they are doing a "different kind" of anniversary show for her in the fall.

Nice! Maybe it will be a backstage one with the actors breaking character, so she can talk about her parents. One scene I would like to see is the cameo Bill Bell made during her wedding to Danny which ended up on the cutting room floor!

So how do we view Cricket/Christine love interests as written by Bill Bell?

Danny - Young girl's crush/first love.

Phillip III - I'd say he loved Cricket more than she loved him but I could be wrong on that.

Paul - Initially a professional relationship and they became friends which then turned into grown adult love.

Victor - Might have been but never was (yeah I said it).

Lauralee Bell celebrates 40 years - I hope this isn't all they're doing! @bgrape

She said I’d like the Anniversary show so I’m really hoping it’s an 40th anniversary of she and Danny meeting. Otherwise, why would I like it? Lol. It pains me when she always mentions Doug and not Michael (Damian). Also how she thinks everyone converted to Chris/Paul. Absolutely NOT but oh well. Danny and Cricket were the only reason I watched Y & R.  Perhaps the anniversary show isn’t until the fall because of schedules.

Whenever an episode surfaces from Summer 1986 to end of 1989 I skip all the Cricket scenes. Even when I watched that era in real time on school breaks I was like "why is Cricket on all the time?"

Same -- that was sheer torture!

As the years have rolled by, I find Cricket less annoying than I originally did, and I can now stomach her in (very) small doses.

By the way, the show did dedicate an episode to cricket-paul-danny on may 25, 1998. you can find the episode in the vault. many flashbacks from Danny and Christine first meeting..

CHRISTINE tells Nina that she can't get Danny out of her mind, but Nina reminds her that she was only 15 or 16 when she first met Danny. Christine remembers the first time she met Danny; she was a young woman who knew who Danny was but never thought she would be lucky enough to meet him. Christine has another flashback to a time when Danny escorted her to a party; he tells her how terrific she looks. Another time, Danny tells her that she should be seeing other guys, but a teary eyed Chris wonders how many she will have to date before she has broadened her horizons enough to suit him. Finally, she tells Nina, they realized that they were made for each other and the rest is history. Now she has flashbacks to their "incredible" wedding and honeymoon in Hawaii. This was a marriage that should have lasted forever, she says.

The first segment of this show has an interview with Jeanne Cooper and Corbin Bernsen.

Danny is her one true love. He’s the one who has respected her, never cheated on her. Phyllis ruined them over a lie.  He had to endure all the guys that Bill Bell put in her path. Even Lauralee didn’t believe Cricket and Phillip.  Scott was super rushed and nonsense. Chase never had a chance. Tgen finally Danny.  They had such cheesy lines but it was genuine. Lauralee and Michael have chemistry and true friendship that showed on/off screen. They only put her with Paul because of Danny going to Broadway.  I wonder if they were going to reunite Danny/Cricket as Phyllis was only supposed to be three weeks. Now this back and forth between Paul and Danny is ridiculous. Would  never understand Cricket and Nick or Victor. Ewww.
I get why some ppl like she and Paul together but that relationship is also toxic or more friendship.

I know people don’t like LL OR cricket but I started watching the show bc of her and Danny as they were my age range. I LOVE Michael Damian. He’s so fan friendly and a great guy.
