It cannot be repeated enough: save those vids while you can! It is really easy to download stuff from YouTube - do it, folks!

We aren't always that lucky like with you, Y&Rfan23, that you take the time and effort to reupload stuff. It is downright criminal what great episodes/scenes CBS has killed on YouTube… Just think about formicida (?) - the Sheila channel. Deleted TWICE, everything gone. sad.png

I don't mean to sound stupid, but what is the best site to download youtube videos???

I unfortunately have let so many good episodes go by now saving them myself sad.png......I still have some of SoapOperaSpectacular's stuff on my OLD computer however it's hard to watch those clips cause that computer has a messed up screen.....I also have my old upload files still on there but again it would take to long to just re-upload them all from there since they were in 8 clips instead of 1 whole video, and again the screen is really crappy....

I really have to thank you guys for being so patient, as time consuming as all the uploading is, I really enjoy sharing all these episodes, and whenever SONY decides to give this thing a rest I would gladly make all the episodes available for public viewing.....like sheilaforever said, save these! and please share them with other's!

thank goodness formicida is still up and running as aliehslive now,or else would wouldn't have all those great Sheila scenes........I saved most of their stuff on my old computer and plan to on this one, but I am still so mad that back when SoapOperaSpectacular was tombinorway I missed out on most of his other Y&R clips that weren't on SOS......it's a good thing that we mostly probably uploaded the same stuff cause for the most part I have the same episodes that he has, though he probably has more than I do.....anyways good news is that he is back.....but only now uploading just Santa Barbara stuff.

i actually PM'd him about re-uploading his other stuff on another channel and being more discreet this time......I actually convinced Dale Bell, who had uploaded even more rare Sheila footage from 1992 to re-upload after they took his vids down, he doesn't list them as "Y&R" cause that is the death knell for Y&R videos these days (why i make up titles now) I will share his links.....they basically are the build up scenes to the lab catfight with Sheila doing everything she can to protect herself and Lauren and Paul slowly....and I mean SLOWLYYYYYY uncovering the truth, lots of great scenes!

(these are in order, I know some of the numbers are off but these are actually the order they aired)

There was a complete 1975 episode of Y&R at one time about Bill Foster retruning home terminally ill/Phillip asks Kay for the divorce/Leslie finds out Laurie is writing a book about her mental breakdown. It was deleted. It then was uploaded by another poster then was deleted yet again.

...

Speaking of uploading, what program do you use to burn the episodes from DVD to your computer ?

I saved that old ep. I will try to get it up. I have it labelled as 2/24/74 but not sure if correct. I also have the pilot from last time someone uploaded it.

I use All Free DVD Ripper or VOB2MPG. Both are free. I only use free programs. Tip: Whenever there is an option to "de-interlace" click it, because it will make the video less fuzzy (since most of these episodes are originally from VHS tapes).

I don't mean to sound stupid, but what is the best site to download youtube videos???

I use a program called FreeMake Video Downloader. It includes a button that allows me to download entire playlists or channels at once. If you prefer not to download a program, just paste the URL into this website: http://www.youtubeinmp4.com/

......I still have some of SoapOperaSpectacular's stuff on my OLD computer however it's hard to watch those clips cause that computer has a messed up screen.....

Ohh, you must share if possible! Does the old computer have a USB port? You can just put the clips on a flash drive and transfer them to the current one.

So you found SOS, great job! Hopefully he could upload some stuff on private. You know what would be good would be to have a twitter account that links to all the private videos, gets them out there... but then I suppose CBS would find it *sigh*

Well guys, I was kind of trying to wait until YRfan23 posted some 1991 stuff to share these, so we could go more or less in order, but I noticed the outcome of David Kimball was posted recently, so I might as well share the Masquerade Ball videos... my favorites eps EVER

(I'm going to split this up because it seems like it's only embedding 5 files per post)

ETA: Oh, it doesn't let me, it keeps adding to the prior post.

Welcome back again friend! :D

Thanks so much for reposting the links first of all....downloading as we speak, and I can use this opportunity to download your other episodes as well, you posted on here....thanks for the download link!

hopefully we can see the first episode and the 75 one again (i think the actual date is 5/6/75 believe it or not) there was also a November 76 episode dealing with the aftermath of Liz pulling Bill Foster's plug that I and i bet everyone else would want to see again....

Yeah I have a flashdrive and have actually had minor success in transfering files, again it's so hard to see everything on my old computer so im never sure what i am doin but for some reason i think it wouldn't let me transfer them....i hope i don't have to empty something out cause i feel like it would take too long with the screen being messed up.....i will look into it....

It seems there is a lot of late 70's/early 80's material for all the other soaps on youtube, except Y&R.

I have a DVD that has like a Y&R music video on it circa 1982. It is the vocal theme playing and they are showing random clips of the show. They show Deborah Adair's Jill kissing John Abbott on a picnic, Paul breaking a mirror in anger while he is undercover in the mob, Leslie Brooks playing the piano for Robert Lawrence, Chris Brooks Foster modeling, Nikki on a plane and is clearly pregnant etc.........

When I was a baby, my mom would watch Y&R (just as it was transitioning to an hour, I believe) while feeding me, rocking me to sleep, etc. She had to keep the volume down low so she said she learned to read lips pretty good (these being the pre-closed caption days!), and at that point, MTS and EB were just starting on the show. My mom also remembers "the four sisters". smile.png

I'm not sure I've seen that last one. If I have it's been a while. Oh the hair...and Katherine looks like she's going to eat someone.

Anyone have the exact or a ca. airdate for William J. Bell's head writing tenure ending?

I think he was last credited in July 1998 but the episodes I have access to from around this time have no closing credits... Is there anything on YouTube or does anyone know???

I'd assume the promotion of Jim Houghton and Natalie Minardi othe writing staff happened at the same time. Again, I'm looking for an exact airdate or at least their earliest July or August 1998 airdate someone can verify.

:-)

The first time I saw Alden in the credits was July 31st. But it could have been anytime between July 06 and July 30. I would go with later in that time frame rather than sooner, though.
