at that point, thehn why even call it the View? Thats a brand new show, far removed from what the View is

Exactly.

Another idea: ditch two of the hosts and make their replacements male. (No, Mario Cantone will not do.)

I don't think the grind of a talk show and her relationship status have anything to do with the other. Throughout The Rosie O'Donnell Show she was with her partner (later wife) Kelli Carpenter, it's just that it wasn't public knowledge.

Rosie's on medication for depression for sure. She may be on other medications related to blood pressure or cholesterol, but her gastric sleeve surgery has been a mammoth success and she's lost a huge amount of weight and is likely far healthier than she's been in 20 years.

Whoopi should've been released last season too. They should've just ended it with Barbara. Only person that has been on consistently this entire season has been Nicole, and while she's grew into her own, it's not enough for me to watch.

I miss Joy. I miss the women talking about politics. I miss the shrieking at one another. I miss the reads and shade tossed at each other. This show is such a bore.

I liked Joy as well. They should just bring back Joy and Barbara and end the View in May. Nicole is a nice lady but I find her very boring.

How is Meredith Vieira's show doing? Is there any chance at all of convincing her and/or Lisa Ling to return? I feel the show lost a lot when it lost those two.

Meredith's show is doing well, plus the money is incredible compared to the salary she was paid during The View. Lisa Ling is a "serious journalist" now and lives mostly in Chicago with her doctor husband, last I heard, so I don't see her returning.

That article delivers some exciting tea. THE VIEW is a mess, on and off screen!

The Yahoo article is startling in how sympathetic it is to O'Donnell, who has so often been subject to public lashings. It's obvious the show is an absolute mess behind the scenes and it's time to pull the plug.

Yeah it was an interesting read.

What is true for soaps is also true for talk shows: micromanagement kills.

In a way, I think Rosie was relieved at the outset not to be the moderator. From reading the Yahoo! article, though, I get the impression that Rosie stepped up only because neither Whoopi nor anyone at ABC News was really taking the show seriously.

Absolutely! The thing about The Rosie O'Donnell Show, like The Young and the Restless, is that it ran, successfully, on a single vision. Micromanagement and too many cooks in the kitchen is a show killer.
