I loved her as a psycho. its funny bc before she started, people said "oh great Carly's going to go crazy now" bc that was her story on OLTL. Months later, Carly went crazy...lol. I liked it though

I made this video for her when it happened. It highlights just how messed up she got

Ahh I remember when she was Georgie on OLTL! She wasn't THAT bad as Carly. She was just drastically different from Tamara, and people didn't warm right up to her. But she played the psycho well, and she started to be really good during the meltdown...Then they just fired her. Honestly, I think if they gave her enough time and really tried to develop her own version of Carly, she could have been better than LW.

Yeah, but ABC wanted LW and once she quit GL they were going to get her. Didn't they try and nab her after TB quit but she was still on contract with GL?

yeah I heard that. Another name that was up for the role when Tamara left was Jamie Luner. Love her as Liza on AMC. I wonder how she would have fared as Carly

I agree that Annie's breakdown in late 2008 on AMC was superbly acted by MCE. One of the best in the last century.

Another great one was Vanessa on AMC --- when she grabbed Greenlee and put the knife up to her throat.

Karen Wolek's story on One Life is one of the best IMO. The amount of self loathing and depression depicted are unparalleled in daytime and possibly primetime as well. As for Judith Lights performance, there is nothing left that hasn't already been said. Let her work speak for its self.

Enjoy!!!!

We can't forget The Edge of Night, obviously ...

I loved the whole Nola Madison story with Kim Hunter.

This was such a great send off. It is almostSunset Blvd-esque.

I wouldn't hesitate to through Lisa Niles in there. We saw her go from creepily friendly ex to completely obsessive nutjob. Brianna Brown played/plays it marvelously, and the whole triangle with Patrick/Lisa/Robin is the only thing that's been good about GH over the past couple of months.

I guess some would also include Molly (happy now?) on The City.

I have enjoyed the story and BBr is acceptable, but she sort of played a lot of scenes a little too low key. Add in how abruptly the story kicked in and almost no justification for her mental state, and it comes up a little short I think.

and thats why she was so awesome bc she wasnt as over the top as many actresses before her. Her crazy was very subtle. She was very believable adn often left the audience wondering if she really was crazy bc she was 100% beleived all the BS she was spouting. She was a functioning psycho, appearing very normal, yet clearly was anything but. I think BB played the duality of the character perfectly.

Sometimes I think realism for the sake of realism does not serve the story. Robin should be realistic, but the crazy character should be a little larger than life to make a dramatic contrast. Jack Nicholson always played a great crazy person, but it wasn't low key.

Let's not forget Julia #1 on "As The World Turns". I can still see her at David/Reid's funeral as she pulled out a gun and shot all those holes into the corpse, as Lily, Emily, Molly and Denice all watched in shock.

Roxie Shayne on GL. She had a breakdown just when the worst was over for her with Johnny's illness.

Carrie Marler's breakdown has to be on this list.

That was masterful.
