Does anyone know if the Kim/Sabrina meet/reunion is on YouTube? I couldn’t find it during on a regular search. Maybe it’s tied to a daily episode or a compilation of JM’s best moments?

I just remember it was remarkably authentic - especially for a sorta retcon - though I seem to remember that they showed an old clip of Kim ‘losing’ her baby. I was never a KH fan, but I was stunned at how beautifully acted those scenes were. OC, as a huge JM fan, she made everything great so I’m automatically biased by her work!

Any guidance would be helpful. And I hope I’m not ‘over’ remembering how good it was!

Btw...ATWT ranked #3 the week Sabrina was reunited with Kim with a 7.9 rating. Up a whole ratings point via Vanessa Reasons 80s ratings post.

Open-marriage Susan would've been better to the boring Mom the character morphed into.  It was almost as if, Susan had to be "tamed" into eternal domesticity as retribution for her affair with Bob.  Most of the women characters were "dulled down" after the mid-late 90s.  They tried to make Carly "Superbad" to make up for all that dullness

@Soapsuds The Kim/Sabrina scene was just as perfect as I remembered it! No dialogue. I'd forgotten about the quick cuts to the Mom/Child. Thank you for finding it for me!

Separately, I'd forgotten that this was the end of the 'child' Emily. It was only when Melanie Smith was cast a few months later that it was believable that James would hook up with Emily. That 1987 cast was pretty darn solid (except for miscast Emily).

@DramatistDreamerDarn Marie Masters really could kick butt! And she should've never lost her edge. I loved the way she could flew in the face of all things wholesome and Stewart!

The Marland-era work really did stand out.

When she was hoeing it up with Dr. John and then Dr. Bob?

Seriously though, I think she had her dalliance with John around 89, when Lucinda pushed her into the Christmas tree and she injured her back. She had the affair with Bob sometime around 90.

I was thinking farther along by the time she was with Larry.

    • BITD I was posting about how interesting it was that Denise had been with this same guy for simply years but they just did not marry - then that year they married!
    • Random takes from this week: - Bill’s been played way too soft by the actor. I just can’t buy him doing anything truly sinister. I wish he had more of that old-school Victor Newman edge. - On characterization: I’m fine with Leslie being shown as a narcissistic and cruel mother—as long as she doesn’t tip into full cartoon villain territory. Dani’s involvement in Nicole’s storyline feels natural to me, and I really like that Martín is such a hothead, which totally clashes with his polished political career. No wonder no one wants to confide in him. Also, I don’t mind Haley’s characterization at all. - I’m still annoyed they dropped the whole lawsuit storyline. That’s why I’m a bit hesitant about getting too invested in the June plot. Also: I can do without another instant-sibling storyline. - Ashley and Derek? Totally fine with them in small doses. That’s the best way to handle those two. - Thank God Ted is getting recast. I honestly couldn’t handle that constant swaying much longer. - Speaking of Ted: maybe I’m in the minority here, but that hotel set is hideous. The oversized boiserie makes everything look flat, and that artwork on the wall? Bland, ugly, and lifeless. - I’m 50/50 on the product placement. On one hand, it’s totally misplaced and campy—especially when it shows up in the middle of emotional scenes. It just feels wrong. But on the other hand… here we are talking about Febreze and Tide. So maybe it is working? I honestly don’t know. - I don’t have any issues with the fashion on the show overall, but André’s wardrobe is just off. Not in terms of style, but size. His tops are way too tight and actually make him look even shorter than he is. Same goes for Smitty. Both of them would seriously benefit from some larger blazers or chunkier sweaters.
