Interesting tidit, Brett Claywell (Ex Kyle Lewis, OLTL) is roomates with Josh Henderson who was cast as John Ross. Brett tried out for a role (believe to be the Christopher Ewing role) but didn't get it due to age.

They're like months apart...he can't have been up for Christopher unless TPTB at nuDallas are "on some other stuff" and think than BC looks older or younger than JM.

Thanks, Carl :) I was pretty apathetic about him until the wheels on the bus went round and round right on poor Darren last week. I know you love Max, but I wanted to string both him and Jack up by their necks

"The Cane creators" Was Cane any good? It was canceled in three weeks.

Jesse Metcalf? I guess I could see him as the son of The Man From Atlantis, but this does not bode well. Then again, who would have ever thought Justin Hartley would have worked out so well on Smallville?

Cane was actually a very good Latino soap. I liked that CBS at least tried to getback to their soapy roots but it was too different for the network.

I hated Cane. I thought it was soooooooo boring and poorly cast. There was no charisma, no flash, no flair. It was dead and dull.

I am actually kind of fearful for how Dallas could turn out under Cynthia Cidre.

I wasn't a huge fan of Cane either. I loved the basic premise, and it's illegal to not love Rita Moreno, but I couldn't get over the fact that we were supposed to root for a murderer right out of the gate.

Rita Moreno was the only good thing about the show, she sunk her teeth into the small role she had and flew with it.

Polly Walker could have been fabulous, but she wasn't sexy, wasn't dangerous, wasn't glamorous. She was just there, spiteful.

Not to mention that hideous accent!

Of course everyone compared Cane to Dallas/Dynasty just like they did with Brothers & Sisters and Dirty Sexy Money. Cane, I think, in premise/style ALONE was most like the classics. It was straight drama, and I so, so, so wanted it to be good because of that.

Maybe it's because I have absolutely no imagination, but I can't picture Brewster, Henderson, Metcalfe or Russell in a love triange. Maybe it'll look better onscreen than it does in my head.

I am weeping for you guys! I really don't mind that Veronica Mars alumna Julie Gonzalo has also been cast -- since some of her guest appearances on The Glades and Nikita -- I've really taken a liking to her.

    • Thanks so much @SoapDope78 Wow-the first week of 1 hr shows and Gloria Monty's tenure. It's been reported that she scrapped the first few shows that had already been taped in the hour format, but like so many stories from the good ol' days that might be a myth. Nothing about what we saw there suggests any noticeable changes in direction or production.
    • Sami's Three Stooges stole the show today

I enjoyed their individual scenes with other characters before they all came together at the Pub to commiserate over their relationships with Sami. I thought that was broken down pretty well. I just wish it had gone on a little longer. And I actually found it kinda funny too lol it seemed more mature than what we're used to. That's the kind of humor that should be on a soap. But I'm not really sure about all this talk of Dante Vitali and Sami's engagement though, especially since it doesn't look like Ali Sweeney is coming back anytime soon. What's the point of it all if we're (probably) not going to see it? It also looked like today was the first round of Brady vs. Xander as well lol I enjoyed their fight, and I'm interested in seeing this storyline play out. Even though I'm sure that Sarah will ultimately go back to Xander in the end, I'd like to see what happens along the way, and how they and everyone around them are affected by this. Btw, Theo and Jada? Idk. I still think he had the most chemistry with Arianna. And he was a bit of a dick too. It also seemed a little out of character for Jada to be so OK with him being such a dick  And though Alex and Stephanie were very boring again and need much better conflict than this book stuff, I am interested in the mystery of who's targeting Alex.  And yeah, I know this is a nitpick, but why is the Square still open after the gala? Isn't it supposed to be really late at night?
    • In fairness, Hillary and Bob Woods were thick as thieves again at least by the end of OLTL. But both she and I believe Mark Derwin not so subtly dissed Kale Browne in the oral history, lol.

    • Frat Boy Jr.'s reaction to seeing Luna was just awful acting. It was so bad that I started laughing.

Does anyone have screenshots of it?
    • Geez, I hadn't heard that Doctors story. HBS really did go through it.
    • No offense to the actors involved, but dear God in heaven: I don't know HOW viewers managed to get through that storyline with Maggie, Frank, Cal and baby Jill without running into oncoming traffic.  Then, to make matters worse, they dragged poor Diana into the mess!  I don't care WHO gets that damn baby!  Just wrap it up and move ON already!
    • Poor HBS.  To have to put up with Stephen Burleigh, who stuck his knee between her legs while rehearsing a love scene on THE DOCTORS, then told the director that's what he did with his wife; Kincaid, who had more hair on his chest and upper lip than Koko the Gorilla; Kale Browne, who taped his lines all over the OLTL studio floor, because he couldn't ever be bothered to [!@#$%^&*] memorize them; and Robert S. Woods, who apparently thought it was still 1979 and that he was still smolderingly sexy, so why should Bo Buchanan be stuck being in a happy marriage with Nora?  After all that, no wonder she jumped at the chance to play a lesbian on VENICE, lol.
