And Larry actually looks better there than he had in previous years after his transplant. Looks like he put on some healthy weight.

I just saw the promo today... and this looks really exciting to me! I was always a KNOTS queen, but I did watch Dallas at times. I don't see how how Jesse Metcalfe gets such a bum wrap. Yeah, he's a little vacant... but hey... a soap character can be VACANT, can't they? Carl, why are you such a Debbie downer about this? For me, the structure of the news show is EXACTLY how you should revisit and old series, they are not starting with ALL new people, and it looks so much better than Melrose Place 2.0. I watchd orginal Melrose, and I could not get through ONE episode of the new one. So let's keep our fingers crossed, and I think this looks good!

Ok, I just watched the preview...

-Not trying to be an ass, but Jesse brought it down from moment one... he delivers his lines like a reality show cast member when instructed to retell a story

-Jordana bending over

-Just as I guessed, they gave John Ross an apartment in the city

-The vets carried that entire promo

-Sue Ellen's white Porsche Panamera! (I guess she wouldn't anymore, but I hope they stick with the Ewing1/2/3 et cetera license plate motif)

-The sight of those yellow and white striped awnings gave me such a tingle

-I am very excited for this and I'm hoping for a "Who Cares Who Shot Christopher?" non-cliffhanger

-I love that it is just DALLAS, not *New Generation* or nothing like that

Jesse is useless. The vets were the best in the whole promo. I remember reading LInda Grey saying she'd be driving a new car......lol a white Porshe Panamera.

Who shot Christopher would be nice...lol.....The role needs to be recast.

I like how they did leave it at Dallas. I thought they might put the new generation or something else. And it looks like we will get the original Dallas theme music.

It would be really great if the year-long wait spiked Netflix requests/dvd sales from people interested in the original series.

Dallas DVD sales have been good. But this might bring in more new viewers to buy their dvds...I agree with you on that.

I don't think they can on Dallas. A character can be dull but the actor doesn't have to be. They can do something to make the character seem a little more lively. That's usually what happened with Pam and Bobby.

This seems like a lot of the younger actors have been cast with extremely generic, bland actors, almost deliberately so, because so much of TV now is about being generic. When I see the sons of Bobby and JR I shouldn't wonder whether they're going to spend most of their time talking about getting their eyebrows done. It's just this...blankness and emptiness.

I want both Jesse Metcalfe and Josh Henderson recast. Other than that, it looks awesome!!

I am willing to give them a shot. People forget that before Dallas all Patrick Duffy was was the Man from Atlantis, a role that basically called for a speedo ready body and webbed toes. You never know who will turn out to be ok.

Jesse Metcalfe has actually had a varied career. Last season he was on Chase, a serious cop show. He just happens to be a mediocre actor.

I think mediocre actors can be OK on this type of show if they have charisma. I loved Pamela Sue Martin but I can't say I thought she was a dynamite actress. But he's just so dull, as is Henderson, outside of that bizarre attempt at a pornstache. I haven't watched anything of Brewster in recent years, so she might be better, but she was also very forgettable on ATWT.

I really wouldn't mind him on some other random new primetime soap, there's just something sacred about Dallas and to be in such a pivotal role. I wouldn't give a damn if he did a guest stint.

I loved Pamela Sue Martin as Fallon. I hated her replacement Emma Samms...what a horrible recast. Henderson is just ok too. I loved Brewster on ATWT and I remember her being a fan favorite on ATWT.

Thats the key. I cant believe Metcalf won the role for such an important role.

Emma was much better in the last season but generally I think she just lacked spark. I have not seen any of this from her in a majority of her roles. I haven't watched a lot of her first GH run so perhaps she was better there. From the start of her Fallon run she was all but comatose, whereas PSM, even though she clearly was checked out and dreary in her last few years, still had a bit more life in her.

I mostly remember Brewster whining and the show not knowing where to go with her (that thing with Andy seemed so random). I guess being saddled with Kerr Smith didn't help her. And that summer where she and Dani said "my guy" so many times I hoped Mary Wells would rise up. I mostly just enjoyed her scenes with Hal.
