The way they wrote Cliff was just awful. The guy wouldn't kill his own daughter just to get EE. I am not even sure why they brought JVA back since she had maybe 90 seconds of screen time. Is she slated to be on next week as well? I have to say the make up dept deserves an emmy award for the way they made her look presentable. John Ross continues to grow on me, and I liked the scene where he and Christopher were on the same side against Pamela.

Wonder if the show thinks Katherine stayed dead after the dream season or not? Rumour had it these writers wanted to bring back Kristen until someone mentioned to them that she was dead.

The only reason I could see why Val/Gary were not focused on was maybe due to the Knots landing aspect. Perhaps they were allowed to bring them back but only if there were no references to KL? I know i'm stretching, but could be possible.

That was really despicable of Cliff. That's character assassination style of writing right there.

I believe Chris said that Val's episodes were cut down from three to one but there's no way they could just leave it at that. If they do, they should have just written her out and saved her for later, this single, solitary episode would be pathetic.

The writers are sick. I understand Cliff becoming more dark and tragic, but the only thing he cared about was his family. Hell, he was even friends with Bobby. The way they're writing him doesn't make sense. He should be a regular character and his motivations should be more clear. I HIGHLY DOUBT Cliff would've put his nephew and daughters life in danger. No amount of years can make me believe that. Then killing off Katherine was so stupid, especially since Pam isn't going to return. I think that was a writers screw up and they just assumed she was dead.

My BIGGEST disappointment was with Valene's return.Gary and Val are the only characters they brought back properly by developing a brief backstory that leaves you wanting more...yet nothing came of it. Gary had 10-15 episodes worth of story crammed into 3 episodes and BOTH of Val's scenes left me wanting more, but again we got NOTHING. That first scene should've let into a second scene with Gary and the scene with Sue Ellen should've been followed by a lot more. That is a beginning not an ending. Fans aren't expecting too much, they're just expecting follow through on the scenes that THE SHOW is giving us.

I feel like they use these returns and old actors for buzz, but they don't know or care how to really use them. Lucy, Gary and Val are core characters who weren't used much in the original so there are a ton of things the writers can do. Gary fit in PERFECTLY at Southfork. Finally Bobby had somebody new to interact with and Sue Ellen as well. I'm not talking romance either, he just fit in very well. And Val and Lucy were such a waste. It was just weird.

    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
