June 17, 201015 yr Member Is he that desperate for money? EW makes this sound like a one month stint in a very limited bit character capacity. It's not a big role, they couldn't have cast some poor/struggling actor for this role? Guess this solves one of Jamey Giddens's blind items (specifically, the one about the soap hyping the crap out of landing "name" stars but for extremely short runs).
June 17, 201015 yr Member Pretty much like Y&R itself these days, all hype and no substance... Edited June 17, 201015 yr by Y&RWorldTurner
June 17, 201015 yr Member Didn't most people over 40 look better over 20 years ago? Yes, but that wasn't my point. My point is that he was really attractive back then, imo. A person who is ugly now may have looked better 20 years ago, but that doesn't mean they were ever really all that. Anyway, I'm neutral on this news. I don't think it will help or hurt the show either way.

I've never been a fan of his... well James Franco has an actual career (and I know who he is) yet he did a one month stint on GH and is returning....
June 17, 201015 yr Member At least Roberts probably won't cause a ratings dive as Franco did. I think the first time I noticed Roberts looking rough was when he started overtanning in the late 90s. He looked pretty decent before then. After that I stopped seeing him in anything.
June 17, 201015 yr Member well James Franco has an actual career (and I know who he is) yet he did a one month stint on GH and is returning.... Cheap, that's your problem. Not Eric's. He's a bigger name than Franco. It's actually scandalous that you have no idea who he is.
June 17, 201015 yr Member It wasn't Franco that caused a ratings nosedive it was the idiotic storyline they gave him. Most weren't interested in Jaysus as part of it. This sounds boring, have no interest in Adam he needs to go clink boom

ER has had a career that spans over 30 years. He may not be an A lister, but neither is Franco. Edited June 17, 201015 yr by Juliajms
June 17, 201015 yr Member Shameless Mariah plug-in - because Eric is in it: <param name="movie" value=" name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385">
June 17, 201015 yr Member well James Franco has an actual career (and I know who he is) yet he did a one month stint on GH and is returning.... The difference is Franco was a lead in his story, from what we know about Roberts' role, he's a secondary supporting character that's an attorney. Franco was no bit character on GH, this attorney looks like one. You may not know who he is, but he's had a pretty long career, and I don't think he comes for cheap (no pun intended). June 17, 201015 yr Member I don't mind Eric Roberts. I liked him on Less than Perfect. And I wouldn't mind him on this show, if the character really seemed to have any point? I mean its not like this role SCREAMS "Eric Roberts should play this!"...It seems like anyone could play it, and Eric will be a background character who will fizzle as soon as Adam walks (which I'm sure he will).
June 17, 201015 yr Member I actually think this role fits him like a glove. He looks like an attorney. And can pull it off.

I actually think this role fits him like a glove. He looks like an attorney. And can pull it off. I agree with this, but this role is essentially a nothing role, so he'll be wasting his time.
June 17, 201015 yr Member Maybe he's needs fast, quick coke money? And he'll get paid probably about a week or two after he tapes. Maybe he knows Maria Bell through her art and/or Republican circles and she called on him for a favor?
June 17, 201015 yr Member LOL, bellcurve & Turner are making him look penniless. But how can he be when he has 12 projects in the works?! Trash typically seeks its own kind, I see... Yeah. Kind of like Madonna.
