I did not expect to read so controversial a statement this early on a Sunday morning! *clutches pearls* I've mostly seen his work on YouTube, in classic clips of episodes from ATWT, GH, GL. I personally enjoyed watching his material (80s to early 90s ATWT is chef's kiss) but different strokes for different folks! Some people adore classic OLTL, others live for 80s Days. That's soaps for you -- and, in turn, that's RHs for you. BH out-trumps the other franchises in terms of ratings currently, but IMO low rated Miami and Dubai have been the best watches of the year so far. And yes, I know we are only 3 episodes into Dubai S2.

For me... I was an OC dude.. and I stick with it through thick and thin.   Miami has been pretty good and Dubai is off to a promising start this season.

i dont care. im team Jennifer when it comes to this fight. Danielle kept getting in her personal space. Even after telling her to calm down multiple times, Danielle kept pointing her finger in Jen's face. I can see why Jen would push her. I also can see why Danielle would react to hit her but she did it with a cup which at that point becomes a weapon and could have caused more damage

With Nene likely not coming back, Kandi gone, Kenya gone, Porsha supposedly not getting to do a lot of the filming that the show had anticipated, they may try to get Phaedra or Sheree again...unless they get truly desperate and Kim Z returns (wasn't that some rumor).

It was a really good episode. One of the reasons why -- echoing the discussion we used to have in the GH or Y&R threads -- was because the drama stems from the women's personalities/characters. Remember the rules of soap writing that Douglas Marland developed? One of the most important ones was how character, not plot, is everything, and it must drive plot, not the other way around.

I was reminded of that maxim watching this episode. So much drama revolves around the evolving character of the Queen Bee, Caroline Stanbury. How Stanbury talked about being vulnerable and in a sad place, and Sergio and Brooks were drawn to that. And now she doesn't need saving.... what that now means for the relationships in her life. For all her toughness, Caroline talking about her cold upbringing ("The British keep their dogs at home, and put their children in high-class kennels"), you understand why she married Sergio, who despite his clinginess, is also warm, outgoing and not shy about his feelings. Caroline needs him to replicate a warm family dynamic she never had, as much as he needs her to mother him.

Another character reference -- Lesa and Brooks talking about each other. Lesa saying Brooks is panicking because she was able to manipulate people (Stanbury) when they are down; Brooks saying Lesa is projecting, because she is terrified of Stanbury and Ayan's friendship.  Two things can be true at the same time.

The sit-down between the two Carolines. Stanbury's look on her face when Brooks spoke in circles readd to me her realisation that Brooks is manipulative and almost gaslighting her at times. Brooks is becoming a bit of a villain this season -- but a vulnerable and relatable one.

Sara talking with Makti about dating while both were getting scalp massages -- another moment that stuck with me.

Saba the Sabotage! I must disagree @Taoboi I think Snobby Saba the Pakistan Princess is a great FOH addition. A wealthy place like Dubai is bound to have snooty gatekeepers, and she is it. I hope we see more of her!

Another reason this season is clicking is because these women are pretty closely integrated in each other's lives. The way they greet and hug Yasmine, Caroline's daughter, and chat with her. The way Lesa's mother loves Ayan. The way Sara and Sergio are close (brother/sister close -- I don't think Sara has a thing for Sergio. If anything, and if she wasn't in Dubai, I sometimes wonder if Sara might decide to date a woman), and have the family-trip photos to prove it. This is how Stanbury maintains her Queen Bee status -- she folded these women and their families into her close social circle, and socialises in the off season, and not just when the cameras are rolling. She's the social director.

Hehe. What are you talking about, Cat? We STILL been discussing Douglas Marland's Rules in the GH thread since March when Patrick Mulcahey's brief run started. I at least feel he was applying them which is why now that we are approaching the end of his on-air material, we are seeing the middle of his stories and I feel he definitely used the rule about keeping everyone, observe them, and start playing around to see what fits...which has led to surprising things (Drew/Nina, return of Femme Fatale Ava, Liason revisit?) and what I hoped...for some board people here...the natural exits to characters that no one liked.  But...lol...a moot point now. And...wrong thread.

You definitely hit the bullseye on this one. Especially your last paragraph and probably what I love Dubai so much. Not this season or last season (other than that brief cameo by Shady Phae Phae) did I at all doubt that this was a friend group. We know the best HW shows are the shows where the cast are friends before the show. Old NY. MIAMI. RHOP at the start. Now this...these are women who hang out on and off screen. That is also why it hit so much when it was noticeable that Lesa was on the outs with the ladies because they were all a friend group. Good to see she is still friends with them regardless of the forthcoming Ayan/Lesa fallout.

I may think many things of Sara, but I always love her scenes with her son.

Now that you said all that about Caroline, I am curious what you will think of her and Sergio fight on tonight's episode. I know a clip is running around. I haven't watched, but some people are already mad at him over it.

I like both Carolines, so I just can't pick a side over the sit-down. And I honestly thought I would lean to one side or the other still because Brooks really has been doing waaaay too much. But...I do get it. But like I said, last week, the only reason I get it is that it was mostly in the Confessionals. While Brooks kinda said it to Caroline, I need both ladies to say it to each other and out of Confessional. But again, once Caroline knew she needed to have her guard up with Brooks, that brunch was done. Le sigh. Onward and upward with those two.

We are going to have to agree to disagree lol. re: Saba. I've been proven wrong on FOH before so I can keep an open mind. But so far, instant dislike. But...I have plenty of time to change my mind. Why? She should be recurring throughout the season. I even think I saw online that she gets into it with someone. I might be wrong.

But jokes aside, the sh*t is NOT fair. I can't with Bravo trying to take a moral high ground on what is acceptable and what isn't when Bravo created and thrived off toxicity. And we still don't know the full context of the exchange. And Brice Sanders (on Twitter) is saying Kenya was cleared via the investigation, but Kenya didn't like the parameters Bravo set up and opted out.

Meanwhile, Sandoval and Whitney (of Southern Charm) shared images of their female cast members. Gizelle suggested Chris B. tried to push up on her. Heather lied on production, which sparked a whole investigation, to protect Jen. NJ husbands watched a sex tape that Danielle Staub didn't release on air. The Pump Rules cast engaged in racist acts against Faith and were later given a whole new show. A slew of criminals performing criminal acts on TV, but now Bravo wants to have a moral compass. Miss me with the sh*t.

Ding dong the witch is gone.

Sorry.. but I haven't liked Kenya ever since she laid her hands on Ramona during the 1st UGT.  To me, that act made her no better then Porsha because she did the same thing to Ramona that Porsha did to her.

And lest we forget in the case of Whitney on SC...he basically was her boss as the main producer/creator of said show. Even if it was not shown, it's the boss talking about you, creating a toxic work environment.

And yet that show keeps on going versus the better show (SC: NOLA) was cut off at the knees.

But let me mind my business.

All of this.

Hell, I thought Southern Charm Savannah had more potential than the original at times. But I digress.

He's a man--a white man at that. They'll never address that issue. And it was a whole plotline last season and everyone including Bravo just brushed it off and took Taylor to task for it.

I liked Daniel...I mean SC Savannah, too...at least until I found out Season 2 was completely manufactured. Very little of NOLA was that. But they were a friend group first.

I heard. I believed I gave up on that show around the time they introduced Leva. I heard some of the messiness, but THAT was a whole other level. But like you...I feel the same. Otherwise, they would have addressed it. And don't get me started on BELOW DECK franchise BTS mess.

If Kenya wanted to make a case for saying they are singling her out over other shows, she has A LOT to pull from.
