Y&R already had their token gay hiring with Thom Bierdz, that was it for them. Besides, Scott and Brett can act, Y&R doesn't do that these days.

I think Jason's probably just about gone. Langston has been ruined but that makes her more viable for today's soap world. Starr, eh, I guess it depends on whether Danielle becomes popular.

I am pretty shocked by this news.. And I am gay. But both actors did nothing for me. I am all for diversity in soaps, especially OLTL as that is what the show's original vision was. But I am more "offended" by the show writing off Rachel.

Did anyone find KISH not all that compelling and the actors not that great? I feel that I may be alone in this judging by the outrage...

I would love to know what is going on that show. And I have this weird vibe that Carlivati is going to gone soon too. They are saying that the actors will be gone by mid April so this "write out" must have been insanely abrupt- OLTL tapes 6 weeks in advance, right?

And I have a feeling Valentini had to have been forced by Frons.

No wonder fans are dwindling for soaps when they find out that the talented ones (like Scott Evans) find out they are fired online! That shows a lot of respect for the actors. If the powers-that-be don't even care about the actors on their shows, then why should the fans?

Something must seriously be wrong with OL right now. I wonder if there is talk about a massive budget cut in order to be renewed (much like that of DAYS). To just all of a sudden get rid of this many people, this quickly does not seem "typical". It's too bad that the show seems to be targeting the ones that are actually talented. Daphnee, Scott C., Brett, and Scott E. can ALL act....unfortunately the writing hasn't helped them win any fans.

I used to be a big fan of Rex....note..USED to be, but he's been ruined for me. I'd much rather have Rex/Gigi, Cole/Langston/Markko, Greg?Shaun/Destiny gone instead of either of the above four. Starr could be recurring and show occasionally, but she does not need to be on 24/7!

OL is just in a sad state right now...

Do you think OL would write a new character for Thorsten Kaye if it meant getting him back? Didn't he play twins already? If he hated Patrick, why not make him someone else? Other actors on the show have played more than one character before. Just wondering....

I wouldn't mind RC leaving, but I fear who Frons would choose as a replacement. It is about time this show had a major overhaul. They have been throwing on new characters just for the hell of it.

Ford I'm looking at you!

I agree about Ford. Way too many extraneous characters. But I think Mitch's return was a bust (but I am always glad to see Allison)

Sounds possibly like another mandate to slash the budget. Or else.

If this is truly to bring on those two actors from AMC, it is truly a shame. Granted, I am NOT an AMC fan. At all.

Exactly!! This sucks!!! We still are stuck with Farah Fath and JPL. When will they be fired?? They deserve to be fired for their awful acting. I guess no more OLTL for me after April. I guess my soap viewing days are really going to be gone in September.

Maybe Frons wants to hire Goutman and Passanante at OLTL when ATWT wraps.

They know how to do repetitious storylines and 4 week arcs with a limited cast, which Frons might want.

Hey, he did hire Kreizman/Swajeski...

Not a surprise.... why does daytime even bother. This non-committal bull [!@#$%^&*] with LGBLT stories is really getting old.

Actually he wasn't. He was his OLDER brother, that was referenced on PC. Them looking alike was NEVER addressed, nor was Granya looking like Marty either LOL

Sadly I can see Frons doing just that

Watch it happen!! AMC and OLTL will be fighting to see who gets cancelled next. Having Krieizman on board at AMC is bad news...I can see Frons pulling a Passanante and Goutman out of his ass.

    • Yikes -a Cane/Phyllis sex scene. Why was there no warning before this episode aired? And of course Phyllis had sex with her bra on.  Had to laugh when Cane, trying to think of Phyllis' password to sneak into her laptop, talks out loud so we (and she) can be clued into what's happening. What is Phyllis' financial standing? At one point she was wealthy enough to run a hotel-which she gave up in an instant(can't remember why-some inane reason) Now she's scrounging around for a job with Cane. The many residents of the GCAC who are living in hotel rooms don't seem to do anything to personalize their space-no photos, books etc. The GCAC must have a strict policy on that. Nikki did look good today. Still find her hairstyle a little dowdy though.
    • Then 87 is the year you're looking for. Vanessa leaves town in Jan 88. When I saw Jenny counseling Dinah about George making the pass at her, all I could think was that Van would be pissed Ross' latest fling was advising her daughter. Cop or not.
    • As much as I hate Phyllis, seeing Billy Flynn in those boxers briefs in today's episode, has me almost tolerating her. BF looks

    • Dear sweet June, you'll get it right eventually.  In the meantime it's a good chuckle.

    • Damn, Leslie went in on Shanice... poor girl! Leslie really can't handle stress or certain emotions well, she lashes out. I also think it's weird she wants to know so many details about Eva's love/sex life. Vernon was sweet to June. It was nice (realistic) to see a customer complain to her though while she's still trying to establish herself. I'll be that guy, but for me personally, my enthusiam/excitement over the show has stalled yet again over the last couple weeks. For the majority, it seems like we're in a holding pattern until Winterfest. It's like they don't want to rock the boat or do much until then, which leaves us in a quiet period here. Are sweeps a thing still these days? Seems odd that we're having a slow November. That ending was good, but I saw that coming... in theory it should have a quick resolution, but I'm guessing Leslie will expose it at Winterfest and it'll get throw out of proportion haha.
    • Yes. Why? I don't really care. Vanessa is also acting dumb, trying to run between tables, on a date with Ross in one room and a business meeting with Alan in another.  One of the few times Van is written as less than the smart woman she was.
    • I've been specifically looking for the episodes for Ross and Van together, because they essentially both raise Dinah at that period and the recaps around her typically avoid the Dorie years, the carnies, or Alan-Michael and Cam. I'm really just trying to trace a throughline between Paige, Wendy, and Gina. The last two are "easy," but it just messes with my timeline when Dinah thinks Alan-Michael would kill Ross. Then again, that Alan-Michael slept with his own stepdaughter, so...
    • Anyway...they literally mentioned the secret room today on Days and yes, this show needs a Kristen lesbian story lol.
    • Yes, they did a 'premiere' of Maggie's death episodes at the ArcLight theatre in Los Angeles, arguably then the nicest movie theatre chain in the USA. Plus, Suzanne and Deidre were in a ton of scenes together during this time. Whatever happened between them happened after 2004.
    • There are episodes with Jenny (Mary Ellen Stuart) that she was in pre-writers strike.. and I know that she lasts until at least August 1988. It's a shame that the show didn't try pairing her with Rusty since the two had more chemistry than she had with Ross and that he had with Rose.
