Is it safe to say that if Cassie had lived, she would be played by a 40 year old actress now?

And WAIT, ghost Cassie comes to Sharon in her early 20's, yet Abby on the show is f.ucking 30?!?!

Seriously, is this the same show that originally cast a 15 year old Heather Tom and then proceeded to center some of the show's most major storylines around her for over a decade?

Mara Arena Bell and her writing team should be ashamed of themselves for their incompetence and and laziness.Heather Tom proved on this very show that with the right writing and casting, a teen actress can succeed, which obviously Y&R no longer has.

For the record, again, Haley Erin was a horrid actress, but I refuse to believe that there aren't any talented actresses in their late teens out there that would be more suitable for this role that Rylan.

Next year the role of Abby will be played by Marcy Walker.

Can Abby exorcise the Newman family? Just look at Victoria -- some evil spirit is within her.

Y&R is now about overpaying for either the a) right people (Rylan, Riegel, Nichols) or B) overrated people (Goddard, McCrary, Eva Pigford, etc for D-list 'outside soaps' name value) in the wrong roles with the wrong stories. It's become a parody of GH in that way.

Next: Melissa Fumero as Eden, Billy Magnussen as Noah, Natalia Livingston as Mac, and DEIDRE HALL as, IDK, Kay's OTHER secret child.

I think a lot of people excuse Billy being older then Philip 4th because Billy brought in storyline for people.

But aging Abby this way over everybody is crazay.

Do ya'll know all the people she'll be older then or the same age as. Daniel, Lily, Kevin, JT, Billy, poor Philip 4th, Chloe, Mac.

You know what's sad, for as much grief as we deservedly give Guza, at least he writes for an established set of teen characters on GH, and all the actors that are cast there can act and they're age appropriate for their roles.

I'm not the biggest fan of Kristina's abuse storyline with Keifer, but at least it's allowed them to explore many different relationships with the characters around her. You get to see her relationships with Alexis, Sam, and Molly, how ashamed she is to be Sonny's daughter but still longs for his acceptance, her relationships with Michael and Morgan, etc. For as mob-centric as GH is, and as much as everyone in that younger cast is tied to Sonny somehow, at least they exist and they're written for.

Compare that to how Y&R has written or not written for Abby and Noah. The actress that plays Kristina on GH is like 17. You honestly can tell me that the casting people at Y&R and MAB, can't find one decent actress in her late teens or early 20's to play Abby? You honestly can tell me that they can't find anything to give to teens or characters in their early 20's? This is just very lazy.

I'm not big on teen storylines, but this writing team at Y&R is whitewashing this show of any trace of them. They should always exist for some generational balance. Now Y&R is completely void of a teen set. Who knows what they'll do with Noah when he comes back and if he'll still be a teen. Can we buy Nick and Sharon as parents of a 25 year old?

It would mean that Nick knocked Sharon up with Noah when they were like 8 ughhh.

This is nuts. I don't think Riegel's gonna be too bad because at least Heather will remain the same age. But, this...IT IS WHACK!

Y&R is on a downhill slide. I'll be laughing my arse off the day DAYS or AMC takes over #1.

I love the actor who plays Ryder, too, catsmeouch. But the fact is, he is mired in the show's worst SL (and that's saying something). In addition, he has nothing to do with the fact that Y&R are recasting people who do not need to be recasted while blatantly ignoring the fundamental problems (and crappy untouchable actors like Heinle and Khalil) killing the show.

Just because you've been #1 for 30 years does not guarantee you will be #1 for another 30.

Y&R has not been #1 for 30 years it's only been 21 or 22 years. Y&R will not last another 30 years same with the other soaps.

The most rightest thing you ever said.

Are they SORASing Abby or are they actually going to have MR play a teen? If they are SORASing, what does this mean for the other teens, Daisy, Noah, Eden?

Marcy is 30 and looks and acted it on GL, but they say she's early 20s. No clue when it means for the others.
