Eden Riegel Joins Y&R

Yes, I wanted Vail's Heather to be the one to bring Adam down and I wanted her to be a somewhat homophobic bitch to Adam and Rafe.

I wanted her to ask Adam and Rafe, "Did the results of your HIV test come back yet? Oh wait, it does take a while for the virus to show, doesn't it?" And then flip her hair and walk away as her heels clicked on the floor.

You can rarely get that type of writing on daytime these days... and on Y&R, it's mission impossible.

If they wanted Eden on the show, I wish they had created a new role for her, instead of recasting Heather. I guess the bright side is that Paul may get more airtime.

That reminds me of Melrose Place when Kimberly threatened to stick Matt with an HIV infected needle if he didn't stop trying to bust her. It was so twisted but she was so domestic. I loved that character.

Paul rarely ever got to interact with Heather before, I don't think that's going to change.

If anything, I see Heather playing majorly into the Chloe/billy dynamic, especially since Heather just screwed Billy and Eden and Liz have a fanbase off AMC.

I can't see Paul getting more screen time over this hiring.

That will just remind viewers they look nothing alike. This casting may be what they use to finally write Paul out for good. They can just shove her at all the other ABC pets.

I think that's going to be a problem. I mean Y&R viewers who remember Paul & April going to have a problem. The only way this recast to work if they recast April with somebody that look more like her.

Paul is their new pet to wheel out every couple months.

So they treating Paul like an minority.

Those glasses Paul was wearing months ago did seem a bit Bootsy Collins.

I don't think they care about viewers who remember Paul and April. They are ashamed of the people who have watched the show before. They just want to get new, hip viewers.

It used to be Kristoff but he's busy babysitting Eileen until she goes back to Days.

Wait a minute, wait a minute.

What is with this Vail Bloom lovefest all of a sudden? After she was hated ever since she came, now she's sexy, blah, blah?! Vail Bloom sucked. Vail Bloom is many things, but an actress she — ain't. Her awful, birdy voice ruined a lot of stuff and she was just [!@#$%^&*] as ADA, she had no idea how to play an attorney. No idea at all.

Excuse me? But Vail Bloom never sucked, and your criticisms of her are all wrong. Most of us aren't "coming out of the woodwork", we've loved Vail as Heather for quite some time. She brought Heather to life and she was a fine actress. This is disappointing news.

Oh hell no....

I wasn't always Vail's biggest fans, but if given the writing, she had potential to be a good bitch.

This is lazy and bad stunt casting.

F.UCK Y&R!

I like Eden and all and I don't blame her, but what is the top brass at Y&R smoking?

dmarex is gonna be pissed. But at least Vail is off the sinking ship. laugh.gif

Another reason to not watch Y&R. This is stunt casting at its best a la ATWT and Chris Goutman. When will CBS learn??

This is like Susan Batten playing Connor Walsh.laugh.gif

What a mess Y&R has become. First Malcolm and now this!!!!!?????

Thank God I stopped watching this show in the summer or else I would be extremely pissed off right now.

Yeah I havent been watching in sometime now.

Poor Susan had it worse. No one cared that much about seeing her and she replaced a popular actress. They have humiliated Heather down to nothing, and thanks to Eden being popular on AMC, we already have this being pronounced some big success, before she ever shows up onscreen.

And a pimping soap press who will deem this..."BEST RECAST!" of 2010.
