I went to see CHARO tonight, and she looks really great for a woman of 61. She made many jokes about plastic surgery, said she hasn't had any... and I do believe her. I had second row in a small theater, and I was 10 feet from her under bright lights... in person you CAN see the lines and wrinkles and such, but she does a VERY good makeup job and has LOTS of hair to cover things up. But it's nice to see she looks like herself, and all parts of her face moves when she sings and smiles, everything moves naturally. High cheekbones have helped her alot.. and she's REALLY kept up her figure, she was wearing this same dress in the photo tonight. But when she was playing, good heavens, you KNEW you were in the presence of greatness, shock and awe is the best words for it when you watch her hands from 10 feet away.

She did make alot of jokes about plastic surgery. She said she has no problem with it, she said if you know you need help and your husband tells you you look fabulous, he's full of sh!t. Then she said, "Be sure and find very good doctor, google him, ask questions... find out who Joan Rivers' doctor is, and DON'T use him... she used to be Jewish, she's now chinese."

Honestly, the moment I saw her name mentioned in this thread, I thought, "Nose job". Now seeing that picture, those aren't the natural maracas of a woman her age. She has that "done" look of the older ladies on novellas. She's probably even had her coochie coochie coo'd. :P

You know, I had the exact same opinion as you until I saw her close up in person. The boobs I'm still on the fence about. they DO look fake to me, but on the other hand, they are the same SIZE they always were, so do these women get implants to keep them looking perky? I would have thought they would just have what they got lifted? I looked for a picture closeup to show you what I saw, and I did find one. This is what I saw in person from a few feet away... and you see why I am having doubts.

She looked great, though... and WOW such talent that is beyond belief. Now, as far as the nose is concerned...her nose from March of 1969 looks the same to me... I guess she'd be 18 here:

(she performed this last night, BTW... it got a HUGE response)

Well, the reasons are this:

1: I'm not an expert, and don't always know what I'm looking at.

2: (And this is the biggest reason) she EASILY looks 10 years older in person than she does in photographs and on TV. Pictures can be retouched, real life contact can't.

3: Even among doctors and experts, there is difference of opinion. I mean, that Dr. Nassif thinks Joan Collins has had a facelift, brow lift, fillers and a nose job, which I know you disagree with (As do I)

4: And in the end, I believe her because I'm a naive bumpkin, really :)

according to accounts, she had her documents falsified in spain so she could marry Xavier Cugat when she was 15 so she could get into america. Those documents said her birthdate was 1941. Later, both her parents testified that 1941 was false and her birthdate was 1951. And that 1951 date was upheld in court, and is her legal age. Confusin, ain't it? She has said in interviews her marriage to Cugat (who was well over 60 when she married him) was never consumated, and was a business arrangement.

    • Several legends here. Like @DRW50 I grew up knowing Joe Don Baker first and best from Mitchell (and his other infamous MST3K appearance, the equally hilarious Season 10 episode Final Justice - there were funny rumors he wanted to beat up the MST gang after Mitchell, while others claimed he actually took it all in good fun). I only learned later what a great actor and personality he truly was in things like Cape Fear, The Living Daylights and the original, strange and mystical BBC miniseries Edge of Darkness, where he played a CIA operative laughing in the face of nuclear annihilation. There's nobody like him. Same goes for George Wendt. Norm speaks for himself, as does Cheers. He'll never be forgotten as long as there's still television.
    • I want SHELLE to be friends, like Belle is friends with Philip.  It will always be awkward, but they've known each other since high school (24 years ago).  And it has never worked out for them romantically. However, most importantly, I must lodge my oldest complaint about scene length.  Why can't they get two words out of their mouths without cutting to another scene?  "Shawn, you look more distracted than usual, tell me why?" "I will..." cut to two-people-that-I-don't-care-what-thier-saying-because-I-want-Shawn-to-finish-his-sentence-already.  I promise, every actor would seem like Glen Close, if they didn't have to cut focus after each line of dialogue.  It drives me batty. One assumes Shawn-D could've used a computer at home (or Black/Patch), to continue his investigation. So, why did he show at the Pub after he lied to take PTO, and then lied directly to Jada's face about being sick?  Unless, of course, it was just a totally inorganic, nonsense device to run into Belle. When is Johnny's first day of work?  He got the offer, met about the offer, talked about the offer.  When's he actually going into the office?  And does he own a suit (other than the red devil one)? I liked that Chad had to rule out EJ for having Philip beaten becuase of what happened with Rex vis-a-vee Kate, that's a cool linkage, especially because I think everyone forgot to say goodbye to Rex.
    • I always had the impression that Blake turning out to be Christina was a storyline switcheroo after they decided to bring back Roger. She used to talk to someone on the phone and it sounded like it was a younger sibling. Maybe originally they were going to be Spaulding cousins, like Johnny was a Bauer cousin? I'm pretty sure in the Spaulding backstory Brandon had a brother.  LOL. Nola was established as the youngest, the name Chelsea doesn't fit in with the other Reardon sibling names, AND she had a very prominent Southern accent. Kassie would have been more believable as a Lewis or a Shayne. Plus, the character was boring as heck.
    • Is JM making the booty pop too? BtG has all the males shook.
    • 5-15   OMFG!!!! Dayyyyyummm Nick!!! I see the costume designer pinpointed that fitted outfit all the way down for me. WOOF!!! And Audra in the yellow dress. When she sashayed into Crimson Lights in that yellow looked hot AF, even I did a double take. ZS was giving. I kinda like Claire's, Nikki's and Victoria's outfits, but those ZS and JM fits were the standouts for me.   That said...for an episode where nothing really happened...I actually enjoyed it for the first time this week as a whole. I guess it has the slight hint of plot movement. Nikki and Victoria being worried that Claire didn't want to move in with Kyle. Kyle being a little toooooooooo flirty for my liking with Audra and fall of double entrendres with her AND Claire...signaling he is so about to do something stupid. And then there was Jack, Diane, and Kyle's pow-wow and figuring out that Victor was behind Audra's company. Then there was just Holden stalking Audra per usual.    Audra scheming is always going to be fun. And I do hope she best Kyle. Well at least without actually sleeping with him. I am wondering how Holden will factor into that whole triangle now. Wild card?

I actually received a signed photo from her back on 2001. Sad enough the photo is still no among us But I think it would have been juicy to give some material for Morgan and Taylor, they did play a huge part with each other back in 2000-2001 but I also understand why the show wanted to pursue Tridge and Brooke/Ridge/Taylor triangle instead.
    • -- More bad writing. We've been told how Derek takes care of his vehicle. A guy who knows how to detail a car/truck would not be so stupid as to use steel wool on stainless. -- Oh, and here's more bad writing. Tomas said he was bumped from a case by another lawyer and was going home to work. Haven't we been told he's on the partner track? There's no way he'd be bumped on a case.
