December 15, 200916 yr Member DAYS could have gotten nominated, but they would have excluded Dena Higley from the list, as she's Fi-Core, like they did with the two hack HW's at Y&R. I would have rather a nomination for than Y&R, at least DAYS has some consistent day to day writing. I don't get it  So Y&R can still win for stuff the punished Fi Core writers actually were involved in writing yet they just won't list their names? Woah way to be severe there WGA

December 15, 200916 yr Member And I bet it'll go on their resumes regardless. That'll show them WGA! lol oh well While I think this year has been horribly uneven, and I hate to sound like Nelson B, here's hoping OLTL wins.
December 15, 200916 yr Member If there is one thing I cannot abide, it's getting rewarded for mediocrity. Hey we all know it's common to reward mediocrity. I'm still wondering how Gwyneth Paltrow won an Oscar for Skakesphere in Love over Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth and Meryl Streep in One True Thing or beat Saving Private Ryan for Best Picture. Apologies to anyone who liked the film and felt the movie and actress deserved these awards. Edited December 15, 200916 yr by JaneAusten

December 15, 200916 yr Administrator Oct 1, 2008 and Sep 30, 2009. Hopefully OLTL submitted the episode when Marty finds out Todd was her rapist (the episode that Susan Haskell won at the Emmys) from Nov 2008. Y&R....Katherine's funeral? Or Collen's death? AMC.... ATWT....

Y&R....Katherine's funeral? Or Collen's death? AMC.... ATWT.... Actually in all fairness to Y&R they actually have some stuff to pick from. Some of the material surronding Katherine's death was really good, and her funeral one of them. AMC. No clue at all. The last good stuff IMO was the material surrounding Jessie's return and the remarriage of Angie and Jessie.
December 15, 200916 yr Member This award lost its lustre about two decades ago. 4 nominees out of 7? Really? Calculate for yourselves the probability of being nominated (too big) and it all goes to pots. Besides, the judging procedure, the things it "values"... Forget it. But if Maria wins — count on her staying. That is, prolonging her stay. Except if the ratings don't plummet quickly and precipitously. "4 nominees out of 7." It's probably smaller than that. I understand several show didn't bother submitting this year. It could be more like "4 nominees out of 5." What's the point?

What's the point? I was referring to past years. Not to today's situation. But yeah. Everyone gets a nom. Ludicrous. All one needs to know is that Kreizman is a WGA Award winner.

December 15, 200916 yr Member A sad award, what can one say? Primetime and features are a different situation. There, I think, I value it more than the Emmy. The Guild during and post strike has become a mockery, too. Just read all the blogs from established writers and Guild members. I mean - they failed to prosecute Dena Higley! Who the hell is Dena Higley to have such protection from certain actions? Edited December 15, 200916 yr by Sylph
