GH: December Discussion Thread

KSlater, I pulled your post from the Ratings thread. You have discovered one of the many insidious problems of GH. The stories have no pay off. The aftermath of a story barely gets attention. Guza gets bored easily so he moves on.

Ann, this problem might be what would make me stop watching. I don't hate GH, but the lack of payoff is annoying. I've seen some really well done individual episodes -- but, repeating myself again, they are isolated and don't lead to anything. Makes for frustrating viewing. I keep watching because I do really like certain characters/actors and there's one story that I'm curious to see play out, that is, if it is allowed to play out.

Still, I don't understand why this head writer continues to have a job.

If the story you are waiting to see play out is the Dante reveal, be prepared for crushing disappointment. It is how all secrets turn out when they are revealed.

Yeah, that's the one. The way it's going -- it's starting to fizzle out.

Don't ya know that Lisa is fun sports loving gal that all men want to f'k!!!!!

Oh is that her name?! Bless her heart, Lisa knows her sports.

Robin is a boring staid doctor although her parents are spys and she has had a much more adventure-filled and dangerous life than Patrick or Lisa can ever dream of having. If Patrick and Lisa partied so much, they must have gone to sh!t med schools. Robin went to the Yale and the Sorbonne. Robin is so way out of their league.

Word!

I wish I could write GH. I would send Robin, Maxie, Sam, Alexis, Kristina and Molly on an adventure to save the world from a Cassadine plot. Mac and Matt would tag along to help out now and then. But the women would save the day and be the heroes. Kristina would be cured of her stupidity by the time she got back to PC. She would drop Kiefer and press charges against him. Robin, Sam, and Maxie would find new men who appreciate and respect them. Alexis and Mac would fall in love and have a passionate affair.

Not a huge fan of stories like that, but I'd totally be down for this. Hell, a redux of Casey the Alien would be better for Robin than this.

I am far from being a megafan of hypocritical, sanctimonious Robin, but the Blonde NFL on Fox commentator dumping on Robin and Patrick is low.

I used to love that Mad World song. But GH's chronic overuse of the opening few bars is making me seriously despise it. Almost to the point of "Do ya do ya want it?" song hate. Change the CD, Jill.

LMFAO. I also love that one cue they've been overusing.

Robin as Liz apologist is making me ill.

Me too. Robin told off the Puffy Prince, then turns around and coddles Liz. Unbelievable.

Lisa is sticking to Patrick like glue. Somehow I don't think that Robin will be so tolerant of Patrick if he cheats with Lisa.

what a great episode tuesday was. First, is there a better actress on GH, ABC Daytime or all of daytime than Jane Elliot? Tracy reminded me of these old white trash oldsters who continued to drink Pabst Blue Ribbon in a can out of a paper bag while their kids drank with them on a stoop somewhere in The Bronx with the music playing out the first floor window. She has the can of coke that is actually rum and coke and smokes non-stop.

Nathan Parsons and Tony Geary were excellent during their song --and it was a great song. Carolyn Hennesy was really good as hammy Diane, so shy to sing she reminded me of Mel Brooks in High Anxiety. JJY and NLG have very little musical talent, but they were cute.

Is every storyline on this show that isn't mob related, based on infidelity?

You are still watching? LOL! The answer is "mostly yes." Guza does not have much imagination. Too be fair, infidelity at the hospital is a GH tradition. The issue is always how Guza writes his stories.

Oh yeah I plan on sticking around till Franco leaves... :P Though I have to admit I'm a little amazed I am still watching (well today, I was half watchign while doing some work). ANd to be fair infidelity is a major plot device on every soap, but it seems to be HUGE here...

There are some babies/long-lost children every once in a while. And sometimes there's a serial killer to murder women who aren't mob whores.

Did you get a copy of Guza's bible?

Don't forget the gratuitous killing of a Quartermaine every year or 2.
