Pooch Hall is perfect for a Nate recast but too young to pull off Malcom. Darius is just ALL WRONG for this role both in terms of charisma and looks. If anything, I could see him playing a back from the dead Nate, Sr.

But he is more physically suited to the role than this new guy. Seriously, I don't know what TPTB are smoking right now. There are a million actors better suited to Malcolm purely on the looks front alone. Even that Marcus Patrick guy who is now more well known for his stripping than his acting is a closer match to Shemar.

Wait wait wait, this guy is supposed to be Lily Winters' biological father, right? The only reason I believed Khalil as Dru's daughter is because her father was more light skinned. This guy does not fit the bill at all.

Obviously I'll give him a chance and see how he does, but it does seem like they are shooting themselves in the foot by recasting Malcolm. What if Shemar ever decides he wants to pull a James Franco and drop into Y&R for a few months? Are we going to get a 'The Real Malcom Returns' promo? Soaps are stupid for recasting roles played by actors who have gone on to bigger things. It means they can never take advantage of a 'big return' and we're stuck with Claudia Zacchara all over again. Imagine if GH had recast Luke and Laura?

I don't think he's wrong, lookswise. Yes he's dark skinned, but he has the same sex appeal and charisma that Shemar brought to the role. It's really no different than replacing a blonde actress with a redhead or brunette, IMO. So odd that Lily's father will now be younger than her husband. I really don't understand how this will work. How will he look next to Tonya Lee Williams? Malcolm/Olivia was probably his most remembered romantic pairing...how can you discount that?
