September 17, 200916 yr Member a new age positivity princess... That's what Lily's there for. Giving us her positive vibes while dressed up like Linus in the nativity play during Charlie Brown's Christmas special. I have a feeling that we will get Ashley "knowing" this is not her baby, and Victor having to force her to love the child. Then she will confide her fears in Adam, who knows the truth. I can also see the conflict leading to the Adam/Ashley affair the show is probably dying to do.

September 17, 200916 yr Member Let's all take a moment and bow our heads in a moment of silence. THIS IS NOT THE Y&R I KNOW. It's following the paths of other soaps. Some one stop this sinking ship before it's too late. The last great soap, has finally gone way like the others. I just started laughing!! I am going to see if "my streak" shall continue forthwith!!
September 17, 200916 yr Member I'm so tired of poor poor Sharon, fate punishes her, woe is her. This means another year of her weeping, sleeping with random men, pining for Nick, dreaming of Cassie, and going around stealing ashtrays from the local Best Western. I am BEYOND SICK of this character...every year, different times, same crap. She is so predictable..one would hope that this s/l could be a jumpstart to something different so we shall see. She has been wrapped up in the Nick Newman bubble since she has been on this show and isolated from most other characters. I am prepared to be shocked!!

I'm not so disgusted by the Adam/Ashley thing...but I can see how it could quickly seem more like rapemance. The show should stay away from it, but they won't. I personally liked, yesterday, while Nick and Victoria gave Victor trouble for his bad deeds, Adam lurked behind the wall with understanding--not judgment. Of course, what I don't like is that they had to twist Victor's character (make him more amoral than ever before) in order to create this father-son "resemblance". But still...it was an interesting twist to me. I don't think Victor and Ashley are long for the world as a couple. On another note, I actually watched Lily while FF'ing (something I don't usually do, but the lack of reality in her emotional portrayal of cancer--while I live with someone who is going through the real thing--is intolerable to me). All that young woman does is "mug". There is this over-expressive face that constantly contorts from sentence to sentence. I never noticed this before. The best I can describe it is that she seems to following "sitcom notes" in her portrayal. That is so wrong for this story.
September 17, 200916 yr Member Mark I'm sorry to hear someone with you is going through cancer The Linus comment may seem insensitive. I was joking because I too can't find any realism in this portrayal, especially when you can see her hair through the headwraps. I don't mind that their stories are not based in realism, but I do wish they had some type of purpose or consistency, beyond trying to shock people, or go through cliches. This Adam is such a cold fish, I think seeing him paired with anyone is disturbing and gives off control vibes. He would be better as some type of cult leader. Y&R's Mitch Laurence. September 17, 200916 yr Member One Life To Live. OLTL can be shitty as the rest of soaps. I hope they stay at the bottom once GL leaves.
September 17, 200916 yr Member Now we have a dead baby, a presumed dead baby, a dead young girl, a dead dog, a frozen and mostly like thawed out dead Brad. So much death on this show, it's ridiculous.
September 17, 200916 yr Member OLTL isn't really that good. There aren't ANY good soaps to copy from. Why copy at all? Show some originality but I guess that's a dirty word when it comes to soaps
September 17, 200916 yr Member MAB and HS always take the easiest, most predictable, most salacious way out. Baby switch? Of course. It's only been done 5000 times before on soaps. (Bill Bell at least put a new spin on it with the Sheila/Lauren/Scotty story.) But it's a surefire ratings winner, right? Look at how ratings soared on AMC with baby Miranda. Right? Blech. Imagine if we actually had creative minds running Y&R? Whoever said that Y&R had become "common" was correct.
September 17, 200916 yr Member I think every member on this board predicted this happening 4 months ago.
