AMC: Daytime Confidential confirming production moving to LA

Also, DaytimeConfidential is reporting that both AMC and OLTL will be filmed in HD as part of this change up...

It's actually quite impressive that ABC is investing in HD for all. That's actually the biggest sign of hope for these shows, I think. Their look is being modernized, and they will be around for at least as long as needed to pay off that investment. (I guess the equipment can be used for other shows too, but not really--how many HD videotaped programs requiring big studios are there?)

All Eden said was she was worried the depts would change, i.e. the existing NY hair/makeup/etc crew would be out of a job. There's nothing remotely scandalous about that. I'm sure everyone at AMC right now is thinking of their crew, some of whom have been there for decades. Those people work like dogs in a thankless industry.

Since when is TK considered a VET???

Eden won't return until Pratt leaves.

TK did Port Charles. Yes, the bicoastal thing sucks...but I see no reason for him to stay in NYC.

Not sure if Lisa De Cazotte recently changed her FB info or not, but it says for Location: "Studio City, CA" on her FB.

If that's it, then they're probably renting CBS Studio Center, where Passions used to tape.

Oooooooooooooh. Didn't that used to be called the "Radford studios" or something? Hesser knows that place like the back of her hand.

She is worried about hair & make-up? Seriously?!

Hair and makeup become like friends or family to many cast members, they're always there if you need to talk, or need your space, or anything. I can see how upset some might be if they're losing their jobs, some people keep those jobs for decades.

I don't even know what to think about this move. I keep thinking about that episode 25+ years ago where Erica had her photo shoot in New York and everything seemed so alive. Now whenever I see AMC, I hear Taps.

Like I said, I might have misunderstood, but her wording... Suggested she said something different.

Nevermind.

You may be right. Some of her tweets annoy me. I was just thinking of some of the old backstage stuff they used to have for soaps and the hair and makeup people were clearly so loved by cast members.

What a nice present for these people for the holidays, they get to lose their jobs.

You know, the odd part of alll this is, they are expected to start moving in December and taping in L.A. on Jan. 4th, one day before AMC's 40th anniversary. Guess that means no big celebration then.

Finally a chance for some of this awful cast to leave AMC

Alicia, Cameron, Thorsten, Denise, Brianne etc.

On the goodside we may see Walt Willey actually stick around since he lives in New Mexico

Cameron, Alicia, and Thorsten are three of their stars, so I doubt they will go. Denise and Brianne are probably dirt cheap, so they'll probably stay.

If I were AMC I would cut MEK loose. Tad is done as a character anyway. I know Bobbie Eakes has worked in LA before, for many years, but I won't be shocked if she goes either. Pratt clearly hates Krystal.

I highly doubt we'll get rid of Ryan Lavery's presence in Pine Valley.

Alicia and Thorsten possibly.

Denise and Brianne - DEAR LORD PLEASE!!!!
