Okay... but she could have been working for him as a servant, and was promoted (hired in a different spot).... but never mind, it's not that important. It's not like that Victor's vasectomy thing we had last year.

There was never any mention last summer that she was promoted. In fact, I believe they mentioned that she was new and was going to be handling the domestic duties at the Ranch.

It doesn't matter, but they're trying to sell us on her years of service and her close relationship with Nikki, which isn't true. They're retconning all of this stuff to try to make this gaslighting work. It's purely for plot purposes.

Because they're dumbing down all the characters in this storyline. They want Ashley and Victor to think Estella is a prime suspect in this gasligthing so that it isn't obvious that Adam is the one behind it. It's to prolong plot and have Nikki back in Victor's orbit, if only for just this episode. Everyone has lost their intelligence in this storyline.

This gashlighting storyline isn't working anymore. As in all the cases with this writing regime, storylines that start off promising end up horribly plotted and go on too long to the point where they make very little sense anymore.

I know, Victor treats him like an ant that hasn't yet crawled on his shoe. But wasn't Paul a DREAM today. What a character... Sweet, sensitive, caring, strong, selfless, good looking, and hung like a horse. What more could one ask for? When he had his arm around Nina and caringly told her... "I can do this for you". I wanted to cry.

Absolutely!!

All this Sturm und Drang about Estella!

Remember Veronica Landers? (Bill Bell's creation). Nikki hired her as the REPLACEMENT MAID.

WTF? What replacement maid? We've only ever seen Miguel.

Suddenly, Miguel became the overseer of the staff, and there were maids we'd never seen before.

Okay. Then, after Kay Alden had that pitchfork dug into the b!tch, they never replaced the maid!!!

When Estella was introduced, it was as the concierge. The backstory said she'd been there for a while. Just like the frickin' maids that Bill Bell suddenly invented.

Why are we nitpicking at this device when MAB uses it, but Bill Bell did the same darn thing in 1998 or whenever???

lmao.gif

I cannot, cannot, cannot wait to see this. Just as I cannot wait to see him comfort his mentally ill "Mary Jane".

Thank you, Mark.. for pointing out Veronica. We must believe that there is staff at the Newmans, Abbotts, and Chancellors that we never see, unless thke writers WANT US TO. I mean, form 1982-1984, you never saw the Abbott gardener until Brad came along. Are we to beleive that John or Jill went out there and cut their own grass? Kay used to have Jeff, her stable boy, come up to service her in 1974/75... we haven't seen a stable boy since, are we to believe an 80 year old woman saddles her own horse? Remember the episode where Victor fired the staff? There were at least 7 or 8 people in that room.

Maybe because Veronica Landers was actually interesting and we were never told to believe Nikki had developed years worth of a close friendship with her. Give me Landers over this gaslighting sh!t ANY DAY.

Oh, and Estella of course claiming she was new to the Ranch last summer...

    • I guess he was let out the gates, because he's outside.
    • Yup.  You can hate John all you want, but like seriously he was the cornerstone of the show for years.  So he should get a long ass funeral and burial and all the things because Drake and John deserve that.

      look who’s at a party I’m at
    • Yes. We should absolutely move on from John/Drake's 40 year legacy on the show to see what Leo is going to do tomorrow.  Lol.  This can't be a serious post.

I came in with a dream and left with a purpose. From lecture halls to rehearsals, community work to creative sets, every moment shaped me. I’m so proud of the stories I’ve told here — and the ones still unfolding. Grateful to everyone who poured into me, supported me, challenged me, and believed in me. Fours up and peace out! #UCLA #ClassOf2025 #BlackBruinExcellence #YearbookVideo @jordanward
    • The actor who plays Martin has been teasing that nobody has guessed Martin's secret. I love that for things like that and the June story we have no idea. I feel like if we didn't have the day ahead feeds Anita's reveal would've been shocking as well. I love that they aren't going the obvious route with these stories.
    • I tried following the news in Los Angeles at https://laist.com (independent public radio and news) They had up-to-the minute accurate info during the wildfires in January. There's no video, no impact to my mind as to what's happening. Trying other outlets, to get the truth, but it's hard.
    • That's a bit murky since that happened during a writers' strike. Assuming Kristen Marie had a 2-year contract she left about when her contract would have expired and Sharlene and Josie showed up right before that. Lemay was officially credited as HW from September 1988 but it seems very probable that his anticipated tenure influenced events that happened during the strike which started in April.
    • I've seen so many posters over the years who are bright, creative, well-versed in soap history, and who care deeply about the integrity of the genre. I'd put the shows' chances in their hands a lot faster than I would allow any of the "usual suspects" to take control of the dramas they've already helped decimate. When I returned to university in the 1980s, I created a bible for a new soap and presented it in my screenwriting class. It was in reaction to how badly I saw the network shows being butchered at the time. The creative process was thrilling; a total joy, and I still smile when I remember the positive feedback I received from the professor and my fellow students. I was used to seeing written commentary from professors on my work. This one wrote me a long, complimentary note on the final page of the bible, but also graded it 97%, A+. I was beaming ear to ear for days!
