Probably one of the more BALANCED comments in this thread!

After watching the video, one of the comments on that blog said something "if you don't like JL as Liza, don't tune in!!!" OH, PLEASE! This isn't the Jamie Luner Show! There are other reasons to tune in besides loving Luner. It's like people who have a hard on for her due to all of her slutty shenanigans on her slutty primetime shows are just ejaculating over this chick as if she's doing something so amazing! Whatever. She's definitely against type. I'm sure, if they did entertain hiring other actresses for the role, the casting breakdown didn't read: Late 30something Red Head Sex Kitten... and the casting department at ABC was FILLED with 100s of Jamie Luner types. But, when it's all said and done, she's in the role, not a horrid actress (MonGRIEF, Turner, Mathison) and is pulling off what's being written for her. Do I view her as Liza? Yes. Do I view her as Liza COLBY? Not so much.

I chalk this up to them not knowing what to do with her. (And, let's be real, this faked pregnancy story is beyond lame and has ruined any interest I could have had in this character. I'm not buying her motivation for it AT ALL.)

I suppose they are aiming on the side of caution, which is a better method that just having her instantly run amok all over Pine Valley.

The wordfight was more entertaining than the actual slap. That, and Erica reaching for the humongous candlestick. Now THAT [!@#$%^&*] was hilar. And how gangsta was it when she said she wouldn't hit Liza because she's pregnant? I've heard that in the hood so many times.

Erica and the candlestick was the best part of this HISTORICAL SLAP! Here's this 4 foot nuthin' woman picking up this 8 foot tall candlestick to beat the shizz out of this chick! LMAO!

It's so funny that this slap is being said to be historical, when Erica was slapped by a "pregnant" Natalie 20 years ago. Like I said, I'm over this whole Jamie Luner is SOOOOOO awesome stunt casting.

I wish that would have been Liza who slapped Erica, and not Misty. I am recalling when Erica was a druggie and Liza was the station manager of WRCW when La Kane was hostess of "The Cutting Edge". She was so fabulously bitchy to Liza back then!!! Oh, and to Gloria as well! GloHo was Dr. Kinder's secretary. I still remember when Erica broke into the office, trying to score some pills and Gloria walks in.... "Would you like to lose your job, Gloria?! Dimitri and I gave you a glowing recommendation. Before we rescued you from the gutter, you were a cappuccino jockey. Would you like to return to fast food, Gloria?"

I don't understand, if she's not Liza Colby then what Liza is she?

I like Jamie Luner but she is not Liza or any incarnation. They could have easily have had her as a new character, why saddle a good actress with all this baggage? It was a stupid decision.

And watching freakin Zach and Liza burst into Adam's house and act like they run Pine Valley made me ill. HE IS ADAM [!@#$%^&*] CHANDLER! This whole show is a disgrace.

Hey I was for almost 13 years. It is a mean job but it got me through high school and college. I worked in a truck stop and let me tell you it is not only women truck stop waitresses who go home with black and blue behinds. My 13 years there I got pinched so many times by both men and women.

That's kinda the point... they can name her character Liza all they want, but the character she's portraying isn't Liza Colby.

It's like when they brought back recast Laura Kirk English with Laura Allen after Lauren E. Roman created the role in the mid 90s. We went from a rough around the edges, baby faced, red head homeless girl to some blonde, sexually ambiguous druggie. Two totally different depictions of supposedly the same character. Plus, Laura Allen's Laura Kirk came back to town with a love for photography -- which made me shudder (no pun intended) due to the fact that Roman's Laura was exploited by a child pornographer. To me, I never was able to draw a connection between Roman's Laura and Allen's Laura for them to be the same character. It just got to the point where I viewed them as two different characters who happened to share the same name.
