  • That's great to hear. I think it must be as AWHP has some new photos for Jamie and Dennis. What a wonderful last few days we've had with new Lemay-era material also now being available! @vetsoapfan @V

  • This is the most I've ever seen of Bobby Doran as Jamie. I never knew he had red hair. I'd say he got that from the Frames but I am not sure they ever had red hair either. I can see why they had to re

After posting the clip in the General Retro Soap Discussion thread featuring John Shearin. He might have worked as a re-cast as Bill Matthews.

Watching Santa Barbara March/April 1985, Jordan Charney who played Ada's brother Sam Lucas in the late 60s and early 70s heyday is on in some B level day player role. Perhaps if AW didn't forget his character and most of its history, he might have served a better purpose on AW in the mid to late 80s? Sam Lucas didn't even return for Ada's funeral in 1993.

I think I may have asked this before, sorry, but I wonder if Sam was even mentioned when she died. It's all such a waste. My guess is no one at the show by then even remembered Sam. (Victoria Wyndham may have but I doubt she was going to push for the return of someone she interacted with for a year or two when she just joined the show)

No, Sam was not even mentioned. Would have been great to have Jordan Charney back for a couple of days. Sam and Ada were always very close when Sam was on the canvas.

@SoapDope78 Beautiful pics

In the 80's, Sam could have been brought back for a short stint , widowed and with a daughter in tow. He and Lahoma had Susannah who could be a teen/young adult. Maybe she calls herself Annie. Perhaps Sam accepts a job in Saudi Arabia and Annie stays on with her Aunt Ada.

A new young character with links to the core.

And checking the AWHP I discovered another actor originated the role of Sam for a few days before Jordan Charney took over.

Sam and Lahoma had a daughter on Somerset, didn't they? She, or other hypothetical children of Sam's, could have been introduced in Bay City as necessary when young people were needed. I was thinking that maybe Neal or Adam could have been Lucases instead of Corys but maybe Sam's children should have been younger than that. They could have been contemporaries of Nancy if she had stuck around, or Matthew.

Yes, Sam and Lahoma had a daughter named Susanne. Sam mentioned Susanne on Another World a few times, but she never appeared on AW.
