I know the AWHP synopses refer to Marley being in a coma after a car accident the week of October 29,  but I am pretty certain she wasn't in a coma. The car accident was on Hallowe'en and on November 1st Marley is apparently fully conscious and inviting Ben to dinner. Mark Singleton was in a coma somewhere around that time though.

Your synopsis of Nancy in 1985 is 100% correct.  Nancy was buying drugs at a disco and taking them.  Larry Ewing even went undercover with the drug dealers in the Summer 1985 storyline which was clearly a Miami Vice ripoff.

They did talk about Pammy returning in 1988.  I wonder if Harding Lemay changed this to Iris when he was rehired as headwriter.  Jason Frame's two daughters were changed to Sharlene Frame and Josie Watts.  I am sure that Lemay did make this switch.

Judi Evans Luciano could have been a Nancy recast in 1991 rather than recasting her as Paulina.  You are correct, all the Paulina storylines could have been Nancy's stories.  I'm sure Nancy would not have liked Rachel marrying Carl.  Also, when Joe Carlino was introduced they made it a point to say he dated Nancy in high school, so it definitely could have worked by bringing Nancy back.

Sally was always significantly older than Nancy. Even though the characters were created around the same era, Nancy was born onscreen in 1974 while Sally was adopted (why, when it appears she had Gordon relatives who would have wanted to raise her, is unclear) about age 11 in 1975.

When they aged Amanda in 1987 they had already had a 14-ish Matthew for the Mitch storyline, but Amanda didn't really get a teenage cohort like Marley and Nancy. She was friends with Julie Anne Edwards and I think they were supposed to be the same age but since Julie Anne was also working at Cory Publishing they didn't read as teens.

I always wondered whether the name of the disco was a rewrite or an intentional misdirection. Leading up to the story the clue linking people (Willa from Catlin's past, Larry's babysitter Dale) to drugs were pens branded the Plains Motel, which subsequently turned out to be the name of the disco. I can understand why a motel would have pens. It seems odd that a disco would have had pens rather than, say, matches.

It's me on my hobby horse again. Another of Eddie Drueding's uploads with the end of Mallorca includes the full version of the song When starting at about 2:10. Still no luck finding who wrote it or performed it.

Saw the original Sharlene, Lemay muse Laurie Heineman, today in Save the Tiger with Jack Lemmon (along with DS alumni Lara Parker and Thayer David). She's brilliant as Lemmon's hippie muse who just wants "peace, harmony and to make it with Mick Jagger". I've only seen a bit of her work on the show but I wonder WEHT her.

I don't understand what you mean. Everyone knew where Steven was: he was in prison for conspiring with Gerald Davis to lie in court during Steve's divorce hearing from Rachel. While locked up, Steve got into a physical altercation and was put in solitary confinement, which meant no one could see or speak to him temporarily.

    • I think his full name is Chadwick.  I remember, back when the previous actor was playing him, someone called him Chadwick a couple of times.  It may have been Stefano.
    • I didn't like those two sleeping together, but I suuure liked seeing BF in them. Wiggle and all. Just sad about the waxing of the chest.   Same.
    • It’s strange. I wonder if the writers at that time had worked with him somewhere else and had a relationship? That time is murky AF to find info on. Rachel Ames in effect left the show at one point in the early 80’s and she is credited like she was there until JFP. Tristan Rogers also took various contract breaks that were not short, and websites also credit him one long stint from 1981-1992. So many people come and go in short succession in 1982-part of 1983. I know they lost a lot of viewers when Genie left, but the show somehow survived yearly at number one through like sheer force of will.
    • In that way, at least we were fortunate.  The Daniel Pilon/Ron Raines decisions...not so much.
    • Letting Brennan put it in yet again while smirking over his shoulder... any day now! She's got him just where she wants him! I do think ol' Jack will be dead by February at the absolute latest. They have set him up as a counter-heavy to Sidwell, forcing poor Joss to work his next scheme or threatening to have her sent down for treason. Once he croaks I still deeply fear we will be subject to Valentin and Carly, partners in crime to lovers, possibly out to find out 'who killed Jack'. Anna was at her best keeping Sonny at arm's length and often somewhat cold, which she only really did (for better or worse) off and on during Carlivati's tenure. But Finola gradually got too emotional over Sonny, Jason, etc. and was allowed to do that onscreen too much long ago. Mulcahey brought some of that steel back, though Finola still managed to choke or quietly sob through some of that material as Anna found her way there lol. She's a brilliant actress and she did a good job with that stuff in '24, but now we're back to the same old and it humiliates the character whether she knows it or not.
    • Listen, I am all for Laura Wright wearing silly wigs and glasses if there was a point.  So far she's just been nice to Brennan and made out with him.  How evil lol!!  Even though I have been told Brennan loves her the writing was never there.  It's so low stakes.  Carly should maybe talk to her daughter and have an adult conversation instead. Laura and Anna look foolish.  I really don't have an issue with either being friendly or at least having some affection for Sonny.  I don't get both of them wanting to have a parade to announce how much they love him and how valuable the friendship is.  C'mon, Laura basically tolerated Sonny because of Luke until Lulu/Dante got together.  Anna likes Sonny because Robin did?  There really isn't much more of a reason for Anna to give him the time of day besides that.  They aren't lifelong buddies.
    • It is so dumb and is dragging on already after a couple weeks. By the time Carly wraps this up Joss will be running the local branch office. And yes, Laura deserves better. It's like they tripled down on this Sonny apologia stuff with her and Anna after the Mulcahey saga.
    • A white twunk with no purpose?? On Days of our Lives??!!
    • It feels like the show hired Hank Northrop first and are still deciding what to do with him lol. I don't have a judgement on the character yet, but this non-story (so far) has been happening for at least a month and he's only made 2 appearances lol. Also, this may be a stupid question, but is Chad's name really Chadwick?  I can't find any evidence of that in a quick google search, so I assume it's just a silly nickname Leo calls him?  I feel like I've heard other characters (EJ?) call him that though too.
