I hate to see actors cannibalize one another like that. Peeples is lucky enough to be on a well written show, but for most actors, TPTB/the writers are the problem. To comment on another actors' talent, or even another actor's storyline, is tacky and unprofessional, IMO. Nia Peeples is good, not great, and I'm bothered by the fact that she's dismissed the talent of every other actor on the show. What I wouldn't give to be a fly on the wall if Eric Braeden ever takes her behind a closed door to give her a piece of his mind.

You know, remember that these blog radio shows are "new". I'll bet folks like Peeples think of these as little "niche" showsheard by 50 people, and therefore they don't use the candor that they would on, say, The View.. Of course, what happens is that if someone says something controversial, it spreads. I'm personally suspecting that is --partly -- what happened to Victoria Rowell too.

Maybe it is because I am not an actor and yes she is very passionate about her "talents" but it wasn't that bad to me. I am sure others will not take it lightly though specifically the ones it was aimed at. To me she was being honest but for other "talents" I could see why they may be offended about her perspective on their craft. She could have approached it from a peer's perspective and instead chose to be awfully honest; but at least she wasn't raw like VICKY lol (though I loved it I thought she was being strong and standing up for herself but thats just my opinion)

I find the implication that Y&R is somehow more respectable than any of those shows hysterical. On the scale of bad places for an actor to end up, I think soaps are somewhere between tampon commercials and Star Trek conventions (and I say that as a lifelong Trekker). IMO, they're all in the category of "at least it's not porn."

It's one thing to disagree with what she said but this is a message board devoted to soap operas, not Scorsese films. Nobody here (including myself) gets to point fingers at another genre.

The thing is Paul Rauch has been a big influence for Y&R. Before when it was Bell/Griffith the show was all over the place. So what she is saying is true. The show was in a transition period. Everyone knows Paul's reputation he is known as one of the hardest, most intimdating, and scariest producers to work for. He is very very TOUGH. Even Christel Khalil said that Paul is extremely hard on everyone. Paul does not put up with crap period. The show has risen in quality and looks more expensive and the ratings are showing it. It is clear CBS made the right decision in bringing Rauch back to Y&R. It seems to be a perfect fit. He is bringing back the old Y&R classic style and doing Bill Bell proud. I am glad Nia gave somewhat of insight into what is going on.

CBS had absolutely no say in bringing Paul Rauch to Y&R. The Bells selected Paul Rauch because he was friends with Bill Bell.
