Some deaths HAVE to permanent otherwise it won't matter. You'll end up like DOOL where half the canvas has died and come back and viewers no longer care when someone is in mortal danger.

Right now all the soaps are like DOOL when it comes to the death of a prominent characters. There are not any soap fans left who actually believe that a dead character will stay dead. It is just better that TPTB don't kill the character in a way that they have to have a ridiculous return story or go the ghost route.

I don't think it's David. It's illogical for a current character to keep her offscreen, people will constantly be thinking about her even if she never comes back.

Wouldn't that be great if someone was keeping Greenlee, Leo, and Vanessa all alive somewhere...and they all came back (along with original actors). Now that could be the story of the century if done right!

Wanna bet the writers have no idea who it is either? Wouldn't be shocked if Pratt inserted that scene with no particular character in mind just to up the mystery factor, and that when the time comes for Rebecca's inevitable return, the mystery person will be whichever actor from the past is available for work. Just a hunch.

This is probably part of Prass' big plan, he's already talked about bringing Greenlee back in two years, he's ASSuming he'll be around as HW then and that AMC won't be in cancellation heaven
