Clearly these aren't very private conversations if people are snickering about them on Twitter.

I imagine Congress would be happy to do it if they can because that means they and the media can welcome their forever friend Mike Pence into power for 8-12 years.

I'm not going to get worked up until we see the language. Most of Trump's EOs are meaningless theatre. Once you read them you see they direct agencies to "review," "examine," or "research" something. They are full of the kind of Dilbertesque double-speak that is rife in the corporate world. The ones with any teeth immediately bump up against the courts. Every time Trump loses the White House doubles down on going after groups they hate as a way of ginning up the base. They ratchet up ICE raids, toss around some anti-abortion mess or start talking about ways to beat up on the LGBT community.

Same.

Besides, Trump, as...mediocre as he is, is just part of the problem.  There are a VP and about a thousand congressmen who need to be removed as well.

Okay.  So maybe Mike Pence isn't in the closet (although I still have my doubts).  But take my word for it: that man is hiding something.

This is why I had to roll my eyes and scoff when some people were bragging about the Stock market surge or the supposed rise in the Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) because these things rarely reflect what is truly going on in real life.

The reality is that the uncertainty of Trump's policies and his unstable temperament has been causing people to be more cautious and ambivalent in their discretionary spending. Many have been tightening the purse strings.

Retail stores continue to close by the hundreds while Trumpists focus solely on the coal industry.

Yes, some of these changes may happen regardless of who is in the WH but Trump's lack of focus and instability is accelerating what might normally be a yearslong regression.

Trump likes to talk but there's an old saying: "Money talks and..."

I hope that will be the case here, but I get the feeling these legal groups that peddle in finding the most effective ways to make hate and fear difficult to roll back have been working on this for a while. Even the one in Indiana was only stopped because of business boycotts.

After these past 8 years, I can totally believe them aiding and abetting treason. They just want absolute power despite not seeing that all this aiding in helping Trump remain in office is gonna be the detriment of their party and put a stain on their party's history. No longer can they toss up so called 'beacons' like Reagan or Lincoln as ways to define their party while cutting for Trump. The GOP is corrupt to core.

So there is a rumor going around Capital Hill that the democrats actually want this house bill passed(the senate has already said they aren't passing it without a lot of revisions that would alienate the freedom caucus yet again) because they want moderate GOPers that vote for it  on record for 2018 elections.

    • I mentioned that last week and I am glad Tate and Sophia just realized that today lol.  I think the show is just tying up some of Ron's loose ends.   You would think Brady, Holly or even Marlena would have perhaps pointed out the age thing to Tate at some point. I am not sure I like this shift in Sophia's characterization though.  MK played Sophia as someone who always defied her mom's rules-she just didn't get caught.  She was openly trying to steal Tate from Holly with no shame, showing up at the Horton cabin in bikinis to seduce him, and blackmailing Holly to work all her shifts at the Bistro.  Once the recast started the show has acted like Sophia's lived in her room, sheltered her entire life lol.
    • I thought Dante was going to put hands on Gio
    • If Jordan never appeared again, I would absolutely not notice or miss her.  So, while Brook Kerr has her flaws, she at least appears to have a pulse and a personality as Portia.
    • That's because India, or the India MKA ended up playing, was created due to the fact that both she and Kristi Farrell were liked by TPTB, but the part they both read for didn't exactly fit either one of them so the show created two brand new characters for both actresses to play (India and Roxie) and opted not to cast the character they were intending to cast (A cousin of Beth's). I think that's why the show seemed to struggle at first with how to write both India and Roxie in their first months on the show because the characters weren't ever intended to exist.  And yes.. Grant A had a great body... but I didn't find him hot when he was playing Phillip.. only when he was playing Alec on AMC which baffles me since it was the same actor in both parts LOL
    • I shared this on Twitter and good grief the comments. Steffy fans can be such vile real-life human beings over a fictional character lol.
    • I remember Michael Logan interviewed L.A. actors/production staff about the movie. Susan Seaforth Hayes said she was dying to know Susan Lucci's reaction.
    • Thanks @Franko  @slick jones You may be interested in the Elisabeth Shue mention. I have to laugh that they apparently didn't even know Teri Hatcher was on Capitol. I have scans somewhere of SPW talking with soap actors about Soapdish. Some, like Mary Stuart, were not happy. I never had a lot of interest in the movie myself.
    • I never had much of a problem with Brandon Claybon's performance as Martin. He has gotten much better though. While I enjoy his confrontational scenes, I must say his lighter, and carefree scenes from Thursday's episode are the ones that stood out most in the last 3 days (to me).   I agree with all of this!
    • I know that Secret Storm had moved back to the 4/3 PM timeslot in the final months on air, so it's possible that they were trying to employ new techniques/elements to lure the teen demographic.   If that episode was around November/December 1973, I do wonder if the owners (AHS) were still trying to shop the show to other networks still.. or if they had accepted that the show was going to officially go off the air in Feb 1974 at the time of this episode airing.
