Members DramatistDreamer
Just as there is a bill being started in the House to nullify certain HUD regulations that many think would render housing discrimination laws effectively, toothless. Sigh. https://getliberty.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Local-Zoning-Decisions-Protection-Act-2017.pdf
Members Wales2004
The House is expected to pass The No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act today. It basically denies abortion coverage in health insurance plans to specific groups of women, and provides incentives for private health insurers to drop abortion coverage, bans it in multi-state health insurance plans except in certain cases, and denies women and small businesses tax credits if they choose health plans that cover abortion.

Members marceline
Ladies and gentlemen, the party of small government! Re: Carson, I don't understand. There's no upside to voting for him unless...I see that Sessions' vote got delayed so I wonder if there was a deal made. Members JaneAusten
SAd enough I don't think Carson is a bad person. But if it prevents Sessions from getting in who is 1000 times worse, maybe reasonable.
Members marceline
For both Sherrod and Liz to vote like that, something's going on.
Members Wales2004
I cannot see a deal being made over Ben Carson because he's probably the most useless token ever and nothing in the way of a bargaining chip. Unless the deal was that they would delay but that makes it a temporary thing and more likely than not that Sessions gets voted in.
Members JaneAusten
So we are back to the obsession over 5 million illegals voted in this election and 14% of the votes in 2008 were illegal. While the media obsesses over these obvious lies, womens healthcare gets rolled back, anti discriminatory rights for HUD get rolled back with no one paying attention to those. I'm not sure the distraction is by design because Trump just can't accept he lost popular vote, but it's awfully convenient.
Members marceline
Four Trump nominees have cleared committee. I agree that Carson alone isn't worth it but there are others who are more valuable.

Members DramatistDreamer
Tweets and screeches about voter fraud are diversion tactics. Remember when people were talking about the Internet providers slowing down transmission speeds for some (small companies/individuals), while maintaining higher speeds for others (big companies with big profits)? That might become an issue again. Trump's nominee for head of the FCC, Ajit Pai does not believe in net neutrality and does not want the Internet to be treated as a utility (therefore regulated). That two-tier system may be implemented after all. FCC chairman nominee is bad news for musicians
Members Wales2004
It's disturbing that Spicer can stand up there and flat out lie with a bunch of made-up numbers and not be challenged by the media. They can actually check those things quickly and they should have been prepared for the 3-5 million lie from yesterday. The fact that they are not even on top of that minutiae is far outweighed by the lack of coverage on these major issues.
