Hasn’t West been showing his ____ for the last 15 years now? I still remember how he and Tavis Smiley were clucking past the point of comprehension about Obama and sounding like some jealous and sour Sams using Smiley’s show as a platform. It was predictable what happened to Smiley and I always knew we’d get to this point with West, given some things I already knew about him, past behavior, even before the Smiley business.

The greed is strong with him.

The People's Party also has or had ties to Jimmy Dore, the alleged comedian who left the allegedly progressive Young Turks (full of some of the worst voices and most vapid voices out there, past and present) and now rants and raves 24/7 about vaccines, Ukraine, trans people, and other topics beloved by the far left and far right. The man he's yukking with here is a pig who used to write for Amy Schumer until his various ugly comments led even her to move on.

What I don't understand is that I hear this over and over and over from the Right.  Do they believe elections have always been rigged - but only when they lose???  Republicans have lost at the ballot box many many times - it was just the electoral college that saved them.  And it's the reason they fight tooth and nail against statehood for DC - because DC would then have 2 senators and at least 1 vote in the House.  And they know what side the city sways.  But Gore, Clinton (Hillary), Biden all WON in the number of votes/popular vote.  Only on the 3rd example did Democrats actually WIN the Presidency because of the electoral college.  People have blinders on and I don't know why - they don't understand that NO, every vote does NOT count under an electoral college system.  If every vote counted, then those are 3 different Presidents we would have had.  It's funny to me that they do NOT see the plain number of votes.

Seeing Harris Faulkner trend the last few nights for shameless propaganda on Faux News, I watched a clip or two, and she is better at selling it than Tucker, Hannity, Watters, and so on. Yet she's never going to be accepted by that fanbase, for two reasons.

I've seen several people suggest this is to save face for some terrible rulings to come. I don't doubt it, although I don't want to take for granted that we're near the tipping point where SCOTUS will have enough Alito types that they won't even give these crumbs. I wonder if Roberts, always so anxious and angst-ridden about public perception of the Court, finally feels foolish for boasting about the end of racism when he struck down most of the VRA.

I agree.  I think we, as a nation, are finally waking up to the fact that government, which is supposed to work FOR us, is actually working AGAINST us, and has been for a very long time.

I think Biden edges his way towards a lot of things over time and with care, but that can be said for a lot of Democratic leaders and I don't mean it as a knock on him. I think he believes in the institutions but also believes in doing the right thing and making change where necessary. Overhauling SCOTUS will be a generational project but I do hope the beginning happens soon.

I do wish Ron Klain was still there.

I heard something about how the Supreme Court justices are now having to or must disclose when they receive gifts and "personal hospitality." There was something about Oprah Winfrey giving flowers to Justice Brown. If my memory serves me correctly, all Supreme Court justices have disclosed the gifts that they have received except Clarence Thomas who needs some more time.

    • I mean, he is but he's also still an ásshole.
    • The most beautiful thing about getting into a new soap opera is getting to know the characters yourself and figuring everything out slowly. And EON is one of the easiest when it comes to that. Pretty soon you are so well oriented in who is who and what are their motivations. I only struggled with the episodes before Mansion of the damned started.  Then after that it's pretty smooth sailing.
    • I don't hate Hayley but she would absolutely cry about falling for Jacob.
    • @BroderickThank you for the reply. Such acting that they Sharon Gabet and the actor playing Draper still played their relationship after it's over. I picked up on it even though I had no idea about their history. That's such good acting/continuity.  Raven has just moved to London and a custody battle is now brewing for Jamey.
    • Ha-ha-ha, I thought it was Marland who turned Mike into a jerk, but apparently not. I get that they probably felt the Mike/Leslie story had run its course, but they should have at least let them have a kid. Especially since they were soon ensnaring him in a storyline with a woman who couldn't have children (Elizabeth). Of course, no one could have predicted there would be a dearth of Bauers a few years later. I remember this! I remember Holly sitting by the phone, desperate for Ed to call so they could stop the divorce. I forgot it was Rita who never gave him the message. What a bitch.

But, yeah, this is the Rita I remember at the beginning: very determined to bag Ed. I contend that Holly never, ever got over it, never stopped regretting that the divorce went through. I wish at some point over the years they had let Holly and Ed reunite for more than a brief affair. It feels like a thread that was left hanging. There she is! I was beginning to think I had dreamed up the Rita/Tim/Evie triangle.
    • In the interview posted on knotslanding.net, William Devane described the Greg/Paige storyline as "juvenile".  From that interview I also got the impression that William Devane was on his way out near the end so he wouldn't have returned if there was a season 15.
    • Just started this show. I’m on episode 3. I’m starting to make the connections and understand the family tree better. Still will take time to fully understand everything but it’s exciting. So glad we have a new soap opera in 2025! Excited to join the discussion once I’m caught up.
    • Haley and Jacob had more chemistry in their small interaction than I ever saw between Naomi and Jacob. Same with Haley and Derek actually - that was one of the few times I can recall Derek ever having any life in him.
    • -- Anita going through Ted and Nicole's wedding album. Really??? -- Dani defending Ted in her conversation with Nicole. Really??? -- Bill wants a child with Hayley. Really??? -- Many people are saying "Dana can't be Eva's mother" because of the way Dana treats her. Maybe she's not her mother, but that biological connection has nothing to do with it. Dana has functioned as Eva's mother all of her life. There's no reason to believe giving birth to her makes the difference. -- Hayley is hilarious for being so clueless and tone deaf when she comments on others' mistakes and flaws. God, she's dumb. -- Alex Alegria continues to suck as Tomas. Soooooo wooden. -- Ambyr Michelle stole the episode.
