Take: Manchin is drawing Infrastructure Decade out as long as humanly possible because he knows that once he does, he faces renewed pressure re: the filibuster and voting rights which McConnell has already feared will buckle him and Sinema, specifically re: a bill Manchin put his own name on. Biden said last(?) week, on television, that he can't force anyone's hand on the filibuster until infrastructure is complete. When this bill fracas is over it becomes a game Manchin is not wholly prepared for.

Seriously. All I can think of is some elderly person who can't afford dental care sitting alone in godawful pain.  The lack of empathy is appalling.

Seriously. It's easy to pay for these things. We need a wealth tax. Bezos is going to be a trillionaire in a few years. We need to slow the dystopia and corruption that is going to come with a trillionaire class. It's probably too late, but we should try.

Ironically, just this morning, I saw a headline that claimed that Eli Musk was already on his way to becoming the first trillionaire.

TBH, I really didn't care enough to read the actual article.

It's about time, especially for Rosenworcel, who has been acting chairwoman and before that, on the board of the FCC since the Obama administration.

If it were just about the money it wouldn't matter as much. Unfortunately the power and influence that comes with that kind of money is pretty worrying. At the same time, Manchin and company show just how little it takes to buy some of these bastards out. Also China showed us via Jack Ma that pretty much no one is untouchable. Happily he's resurfaced alive. I just worry that these billionaire business men are go to buy out any hope of climate change mitigation in pursuit of their greed.

Maybe because it's elections in my neck of the woods, I am tapped out at the moment. My energies have really been directed to the very local and a few international events.
