Believe me, I understand the motivation(s) behind vandalizing Mitch McConnell's home.  However, I fail to see what such an act would have accomplished, aside from letting out frustration.  It wasn't as if he/she/they could have intimidated him into reversing his stance on the 2K stimulus checks.  So, again, what did they hope to accomplish there?

I find it astonishing that this is still going on. Why are these people so willing to do this for Trump?

What kind of leverage does he have on them? I know it's rare, but it's not the first time a sitting president has lost an election. Why are they so hellbent on trying to keep him in power like this?

Frankly, the blatant disrespect they're showing towards the results of a democratic election should disqualify them from keeping their own seats in the senate.

I wish I had the answer to that question, too.  We KNOW that when it comes to men like Donald Trump, the emperor truly has no clothes.  Is it just that the GOP wants to remain in control forever?

I agree it doesn't accomplish anything. I guess I don't think it needs to. I'm completely apathetic to his well being. If after everything he's done harm comes his way, so be it. I wouldn't harm him personally, btw.

I think it's to get his voters. They know what they are doing won't change anything. Trump himself is only doing it as a grift. He knows he's out, although (God help us) it sounds like Ivanka might run for the senate.

There has been some talk about not seating those electeds in the convening of the new Congress. I'm going to need less talk about it and more 'be about it'. There needs to be clarity on the consequences that will result from such an action and the consequences need to be steep.

Frankly, I don't think she has much of a shot.  Not even with the Trump name and (no doubt) Daddy Dearest's assured seal of approval.  But, stranger things have happened, lol.

Same.

And the sad truth is...apparently knowing they will have to put their 'it's okay to show it now' hatred away is just too much for those people who voted for him. The entitlement 45 allowed them to have is real.

Again SAME. How can they be about this? In this country? It is so clear even though it's been decades since I've been in a civics class, that what they are asking for is treason.

And if they are not careful, given how people have been, people might go back through history and pull a French Revolution on them...that itself being inspired by the AMERICAN Revolution.

Off with their heads indeed.

I'm honestly surprised that people knew he is to blame given how people are so eager to blame everyone, BUT the person responsible.

The national murder rate is now the highest it has been in 20 years. Slavic Village and Cleveland's East Side is but one example of the degradation and deterioration of the social contract that is taking place in America.

Indifference by the public may also be because the exent of the damage hasn't yet been made explicit. That may take months or even years to unwind. The incoming administration may make this clearer once they are in the White House. Then the general public may begin to care much more.

    • Millette Alexander got the short end of the stick once they killed off Joe. The Justin thing was a non-starter. Then she was briefly married to Alan's corrupt lawyer and HE was killed off. She was paired briefly with Adam and that ended because she believed Holly over Roger about the rape. Definitely, Marland had zero interest in her except as the therapist for the many, many of his female characters who needed therapy. It's not odd she left the show. One of the rare 1978 episodes on YT shows Alan going to Cedars for a physical check-up. He ends up with Sarah as his doctor. In between making mysoginistic comments about women doctors, he also openly flirts with her. It's very obvious they were chem testing Sarah and Alan. It's a really good scene. Bernau is both obnoxious and charming and Millette is amazing, trying to be pleasant and profesional without rolling her eyes at him, but at the same time maybe a LITTLE bit attracted to him. An interesting what-might-have-been. So it appears the Dobsons were actively looking for someone to pair her with, they just never found the right one for a long-term story.

You've inspired me to add my 2 cents about this product placement debacle.  I absolutely HATE the way they are doing product placement in BTG. I really hope this doesn't catch on or evolve into more and more of these moments. It's incredibly off-putting to place them in a highly dramatic moment where we are still on the emotional journey with the character. What is next - Dani spraying the house while having a nervous breakdown? It makes me not want to buy the product they're selling. LOL. That's just me.
    • I always get the vibe that Martin/Smitty have an emotional abusive relationship set up... but I doubt the show will really go there with that element given that Martin is a Dupree (and we can't have the Duprees be portrayed in a negative light), and because it's a gay male relationship.   Even though abuse in the physical or emotional sense is a huge thing in a lot of gay and lesbian relationships. The Ashley/Naomi scene reads off to me for one reason....  Ashley was talking about the new scandal without any sort of mention and/or subtext.. considering she knew both Silk Press Sheila and Eva.  I'm not sure if the writers have forgotten, if Jen Jacobs isn't able to play subtext, or what.   It's just apparent the writers do not know how to write a young white millennial couple.. and perhaps they need to get a younger white script writer to be on staff... or let the actors play around with the lines to make them more natural/realistic.
    • This is as good a time as any to point out that the 90 minute show was, what I like to call  "cockamamie idea" of Fred Silverman, head of NBC Daytime Programming. He did so well at ABC & CBS but not so NBC. We learned this from a WOST interview with Pete Lemay, 2006, can be found on YouTube, audio only. Now, to be clear, Rauch was completely behind it. Only Lemay fought against it & eventually quit over it.
    • She was so wonderful. Glad your handle has been a tribute to her.
    • Hopefully Alan has learned to not interrupt or interject with pointless information while someone is in the middle of telling a story. I almost think it would be better if Alan was a producer behind the scenes.. and he just had the actors on screen talking and asking one another questions.  Those interviews tend to work better.
    • It was only recently announced that Denise Alexander passed away on March 5, 2025. She was my all time favorite actress and role model. She will be dearly missed.  Denise Alexander, ‘General Hospital' and ‘Days of Our Lives' Actress, Dies at 85
