There's this obsession on the left with relitigating the past through a puritan lens. (Think Hillary and "superpredator.") We saw it again with Ralph Northam and the blackface photo. We're seeing it again with Joe Biden and the crime bill along with busing. Biden brought that on himself by bringing up his willingness to work with segregationists but Harris used that during the debates and then I got to watch the superiority olympians talk about busing for two damn weeks.

I'm someone who actually experienced busing and I couldn't think of a subject that is less relevant right now. This whole primary has me scared because nobody seems to be able to focus.

Ain't that the damn truth.  And I, for one, am getting sick and tired of seeing the Democrats sacrifice their strongest allies and playing right into the GOP's hands in the process.  Even the Bible preaches that all sins, once forgiven, are tossed into the Sea of Forgetfulness.  What the hell is the Left's problem!?

All the arguing did was make me want to watch the episode of "Good Times" where Michael Evans, a.k.a. The Militant Midget, refused to be bused to an all-white school in Rogers Park.

Supposedly, there's a 'war of words' over healthcare being exchanged between Biden and Sanders, with people scolding both men for being nasty.  I have heard nothing of this, although I admit to not paying much attention to either of them lately.  I can't get too far into the election weeds so early.

My aunt who was born here (my family has been here since at least the 1700s courtesy of the slave trade) called me the week before and was asking me what to do if ICE came to the door. I can understand why people who are undoubtedly citizens are afraid. There is no telling what ICE will do.

Mueller did not offer any slam dunk nor was he ever going to. He stuck to the facts, was doggedly insistent on referring to his report and did not waver from them. He was "boring". Anyone who watched this expecting a touchdown was foolish, but he did indicate he could not legally have charged Trump with obstruction and that Trump remained open to charges out of office. The political needle has not moved from this hearing, but it was never going to.

The media then ran with how the hearing was a "boring disaster" because nobody won new points. But should you despair, this is likely to be a repeat of their embarrassment with their breathless claim that Trump was 'totally exonerated' a few months ago when Mueller first concluded his work, as Chuck Todd is once again trending and getting roasted and ratioed by all for knocking the substance of the hearing and proudly calling it a 'disaster' for Democratic 'optics.'

It is not worth getting upset about lazy media takes anymore. They ultimately bow to public opinion, which is why the frame of Trump being 'exonerated' did not stick and why nothing has changed since this morning.

I, for one, am glad he was "boring."  This was not supposed to be "The Real Housewives of Potomac," for God's sake.  The media and the general public need to stop treating everything as if it were another reality series.  After all, a BIG reason why we're here is because Americans thought the guy from "The Apprentice" would make a fantastic president.

And I'm always down for Chuck Todd getting his basic ass handed to him again on social media.  It's a joy that never fades.

This is depressing. I think I have finally come to the conclusion how badly the media is failing this country. The horserace coverage of our politics is going to kill this country.

On a good note, my sister in law who is a Trumper - a diehard - but also a Reagan lover - felt sorry for Mueller today and said she never realized what the Russians did. We'll see how many people might be troubled by this who weren't before.

Today just made me feel like - apologies if this sounds hyperbolic - we are surrounded by enemies. We got the deplorables on one side, the Berners/purity progs/socialists on another, tech/social media companies who profit from this chaos on another, and , a press that rarely fulfills its Constitutionally protected duty either because they have abdicated the responsibility and/or been so weakened by the current business model that they are unable to.

At least, on the bright side, the media has less and less relevance in this country. I feel like many people moved on from Mueller a long time ago anyway.

I did get to see lots of Twitter folks blasting the hell out of Michael Moore, and I'm always up for that.
