Out of the 6 amendments that were on the NC ballot these two were considered the most "dangerous" ones. I saw/heard local advertisements that were criticizing these two possible amendments in particular, and there were even Republicans that were against them.

Some of the other six amendments actually didn't sound bad, and I'm not surprised that it looks like NC residents were split on how they voted for the six amendments.   (Though, I did think that more people would oppose the voter ID one) . It looks like the majority of people will end up supporting four of the amendments/opposing two.

It does look like Anita will win, I believe she has been received favorably as a candidate in the state.

They even canceled the primaries this year to try to stop her.

It looks like Republicans didn't lose any Congressional seats in NC but have lost enough statehouse seats to lose their supermajority. Maybe that means sane people can keep taking the state back.

Delgado is one of the candidates subjected to such nakedly racist attacks. I'm glad those work less well in NY than they do in Florida...

McCaskill is getting her tail kicked here right now. shame, but she's gone so far to the right she honestly deserves to lose.

The man is a Rhodes scholar and his opponent was trying to paint him as just some former rapper. It was ridiculous and very few people fell for it.

I hope this doesn't get lost tonight.

Here we go again...

F them then. they get what they deserve. shame is others who didn't vote for this madness will now once again be caught in it because of rubes who all together have 3 teeth among them.

I see your point, but I meant a chance to stop the creeping fascism.  I understand that not everyone thinks that's what's happening, of course.  Beyond that I am very thankful to have  a check on Trump when it comes to day to day business.

exactly, and my apologies for coming off wrong. he needs both chambers to pass anything....but these Dems better not go crazy with the subpoena power they now have. if the people get a whiff that they care more for running orange Cheeto stain out of office than helping Americans the House will flip 2-6 years from now.

Steve King is losing right now in Iowa.

For Texas I'm surprised he even did as well with white voters as he did.

Yeah,  me too.  Like every group out there, white women are not a monolith. Expecting Republican white women to vote for democrats is to be disappointed.  That's a lesson I took to heart in 2016. They have a very different world view from Democratic white women. Sure, some small part of me hoped that seeing children in internment camps would be a breaking point, but deep down I knew it wouldn't.

No, you didn't at all.  For tonight I'm just going to be thankful for the victory. I think there are some pitfalls ahead, but maybe we can hope this is the beginning of the end for that awful man.

I don't know how he lost. He won the Dallas area, Austin, San Antonio and was ahead in Houston. Cruz won most of the small cities. I still don't know how that adds up to win for him.....sigh.....

Something similar happened here in OK.  Kevin Stitt won the gubernatorial race; yet, if you break it down, you see that his opponent, Drew Edmondson, won OKC, which is our state's capital and biggest city.  My theory: Stitt's victory came from the smaller towns, which, I am sorry to say, will never see their way toward voting for anyone except a Republican.  Those people are hardcore "Grapes of Wrath" folks, folks.

I'm glad Haberman is letting us know all the media spin for Trump, not that it's a surprise. I don't watch cable news most of the time, but I imagine they were giddy over Republicans not being blown out and especially over some of Trump's pets, like DeSantis, winning. They would sell their vital organs for the GOP.
