Another article on the VA race (which, by the way, has not featured a Trump appearance, which tells you how personally unpopular he is). The interesting part is the mention of the hate campaigns being used in various other races across the country.

Rand Paul just seems to find himself in weird situations wherever he goes. Remember when he licked a paparazzo's camera lens (bleccch!)? Or my all-time favorite, his livestream gaffe from the fall of 2015. I still giggle when that episode comes to mind. 😂

The tweets refuse to post correctly but this is basically reports of high turnout among Democrats in Virginia. Northam is on track to have the best showing by a Gubernatorial Democrat candidate in over 30 years.

ETA: BUT anything could happen. I don’t want to be accused of posting fake news later this evening.

I've been seeing this. I am not going to get overly optimistic, but I do wonder if the fact that the democrats actually have candidates up and down the ballot in ALL races in the state legislature might be having a positive impact? Going to areas to compete where they haven't done that in years.

This Daily Beast piece on Halperin's rise and fall has been torn apart for some curious wording and Mike Barnicle's tone-deaf quote at the end, but for the most part I (who despise Halperin) thinks it pretty accurately explains what he did to political journalism and how it got there. As I have always basically said, when it comes to politics he is kind of a vapid, authoritarian-leaning sociopath:

That's an interesting feed. Thank for posting these. It's always good to get impressions from local people.

I hadn't even considered that Virginia is filled with people who work NatSec and that the Republicans have been spitting on those people by entertaining Trump's attacks on people who work in intelligence.
