Once Biden asked the National Archives to release any complaint that Reade made she backtracked and said that she didn't make a complaint of sexual assault in her 1993 complaint, so she is basically confirming that there is nothing there. She also claims that she lost her copy of the complaint.

It's also been revealed that she lied about taking acting lessons from Robert Reed. Her story is that he was a retired actor and helped her at 18, but the problem with that is that he never retired and worked right up until he died (she was 18 long before he passed away).

TBH, I heard her name before I saw anything "in print," and I thought everyone was talking about Tara REID, the "American Pie" "actress" who has a reputation for being an all-around lush.

In order to believe Reade you have to accept 1.) Barack Obama's vetting team missed it and 2.) The GOP hate machine with its sole focus of keeping Obama out of office also missed it.

You have to think that this was floating around out there and that no one from Fox News to Mitch McConnell himself ever caught even the slightest whiff of this. You have to believe that even in 2012 when Obama was running for re-election after having passed the ACA not one whisper of this got passed to anybody on the right.

Because here's the thing, this wouldn't be about Joe Biden being a sex pest it would have been about Barack Obama's poor judgment. In order to believe Reade you have to literally ignore the racist psychosis Obama unleashed in the GOP which has become their defining principle.

And that is the heart of her grifting...sorry, complaint. The flies are swarming this thread what with the level of crap in it. Reade's either an opportunist extraordinaire or severely mentally ill and being exploited.

Great news today in Canada!  But it doesn't go further enough.

"However, the changes won’t outlaw these weapons completely in Canada, as the government will be offering current owners of these guns the ability to grandfather in their ownerships, allowing them to still possess these guns under specific terms. Owners will also have the ability to be compensated through a buyback program, though the details of both options have yet to be outlined."

I don't like the "grandfathering" aspect, but at least something is being done about gun control here.

The talking point tends to be "he let his daughter intern for Weinstein," as these people tend to believe Obama is the worst of humanity and have been giddily waiting for more reasons to "prove" this. Hopefully these people are a minute section of voters, even if they carry large media attention, but with the race so close I'm nervous of everything. But no matter who was in Biden's spot, the same accusations and games would be put out, so I'm just left hoping Biden can hang on to November, and if he doesn't think he can, he will leave while there's still time.

This sounds disgusting - and it is. I don't deny it. But the GOP being SUCCESSFUL at getting an ADMITTED abuser of women via tape [Access Hollywood] into the White House has changed what voters deem a deal breaker or not. Maybe we should be better. But ANY candidate will have mud flung.

So, whether Biden did this or not? I still think he is better than the POS that has killed scores of Americans to bolster his reelection chances. At this point, since our very nation is proverbially on fire, I assert Trump's "shoot someone on 5th Avenue!" verbiage to Joe.

I wish it didn't come down to this for me. But it does.

Same.  I wish we had the luxury of not voting for a(nother) flawed candidate like Joe Biden.  However, the sad and ugly truth is that we, as a nation, cannot afford another four years of Donald Trump, regardless of whoever he's running against.  We just can't.

Agree!

Meanwhile, the blasted NYT's editorial board is looking to sabotage the election once again in Trump's favor by asking for a full investigation into Ms. Reade's claims.

When I posted sarcastically about Tr*mp (sick of typing his wretched name) and his love of Kim Jong Un, little did I know that hours latter, the jerk would tweet about...Kim Jong Un.  Damn, is the big dumb oaf reading this messageboard.  In case he is, don't run for reelection but announce it in October.

    • One thing I thought about is if Hayley will have a reaction to Bill threatening to kidnap and sell a baby. That's another level of viciousness and with her just having thought she was pregnant it might make her feel some type of way.
    • You're welcome. Fall 1982-Spring 1985 was the peak of primetime soaps. What a time to have been alive.
    • 1990/91 Cheers, Roseanne, A Different World, The Cosby Show, Empty Nest, The Golden Girls were still Top 10 shows, and Murphy Brown and Designing Women became Top 10 shows. It was the following season that I think was the transition season for sitcoms.
    • @xtr I loved Martin in Thursday's episode, he was almost a different character. I thought he was flirty, funny, carefree, and giggly. Glad I have someone to share my top 2 women(Nicole and Eva) with, I agree Nicole is the heart of the Dupree family, and also the heart of the show IMO. We rode into the show on the passenger side of her car, lol. What I am enjoying the most about the show, is that they did such a great job character building, because all I care about is the CHARACTER journey. Nicole, Eva, Leslie, Dani, Chelsea, etc. very invested in what's coming next. I even feel that way about Mona, Shanice, and Doug.
    • I know we have discussed the fact that Another World seemed to be planning a location shoot in Finland that got cancelled. I came across this item from the syndicated Soapbox column published June 14, 1982. "Soap operas have been experimenting extensively with on-location shooting in recent years to enhance storylines and increase their viewing audience. A major drawback is the added production costs involved. Another World, for example, cancelled a special trip for Victoria Wyndham (Rachel Cory on the show), who was scheduled to shoot scenes in Finland. The producers felt that the high price tag, along with resentment of the cast members who also wanted to travel but were to be left behind. was enough to scrap the whole project."
    • A few more thoughts about these last two episodes. I thought it was interesting how much disdain both Dani/Anita have for Eva. I thought it was amusing how Dani was calling her lying/conniving and how Anita pointed as if to say, "that part". They definitely are not here for her, and I could see them having harsh confrontations with her in addition to Leslie. I'm curious to see Kat's interaction with Eva on Monday's episode. I think it might be interesting if Kat (along with possibly Naomi/Chelsea) come around to Eva before Dani/Anita do. Of course, Kat will be understandably angry at her. But maybe a tiny part of her might feel sorry for her if she really does believe that she's Ted's daughter as well and that Leslie lied to her. I could see Kat confronting Eva again and warning her not to harm her family anymore. But I could also possibly see Kat admitting that what Ted/Leslie did regarding her was messed up as well. And maybe that will pave the way down the line for them to get along better. I also agree with the comments/speculation made in the threat that Nicole will eventually accept/probably love her someday as well. I still wouldn't mind if somehow Nicole ended up being her biological mother. They have both been acting like they care for each other in this storyline. Nicole somehow ending up being her mother would be soapy and provide some more interesting layers in this story. And regarding Andre/Dani's romance it seems like they are genuinely developing feelings for each other. I have missed episodes, so maybe more of this has been elaborated on. But it seemed like there was genuine affection between both of them when they snuck a kiss publicly in the hotel. And also, them both talking about going publicly with their relationship. I wonder what everyone's reactions will be should they be caught by someone together. Of if they flat out tell everyone about their relationship.
    • I was wondering what week it was, and it explains the low rating for Knots Landing. I was also wondering what preempted Dallas and Falcon Crest.
    • Interesting take on Dallas. Frankly I think the plot of JR Returns should have been the way Dallas ended but for whatever reason they thought they had the chance to get renewed for another season lol. A week later Knots’ 2 hour season finale ranked at #10 against Cheers #3 and LA Law at #5. There’s only a handful of other shows running that long and still doing well enough the ratings/rankings i.e. Gunsmoke, Law & Order, NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy and more recently Blue Bloods.    Another point of interest is the unraveling of the 80’s sitcoms had already begun in the spring of ‘91. The first part of a Who’s The Boss? two part season finale we see here ranked at  #40 and second part ranked at #43 the following week. Growing Pains finale the previous week barely made it into the Top 30. The Wonder Years fared no better. Cosby losing ground, Night Court and Dear John just being there etc.

I haven't posted in a few weeks and have some catching up to do. But I did manage to look at the last two episodes after hearing about how good they were. I really enjoyed them. My thoughts on them: The affair/secret child reveal was very good. TMG was really good as Leslie, her whole confrontation with Ted/revealing all to the Duprees was very entertaining. I continue to love AM/Eva. She my top two favorites on the show (along with Nicole). I have a lot of sympathy for Eva and how she was conflicted/ultimately felt guilty about publicly revealing the truth to everyone. I wonder what will happen to her next, especially if she does go and live with the Doctor that is friends with Ted and Nicole. I lol'ed at how Martin/Smitty jumped up and grabbed Leslie when Eva was calling her crazy. The way they did that was funny to me. I haven't liked many of Martin's actions/his attitude especially regarding Smitty/his children, but I think it was interesting how he wanted to check Ted for his actions. And also wanted Bill to be questioned/confronted about his as well. I haven't been the biggest fan of the character of Andre, but I appreciated his calm and measured approach after the reveal and how he talked with Eva. I thought it was interesting that he knew about the affair and convinced Ted not to tell Nicole. Speaking of Nicole, I continue to love her character and view her as the heart of this show/Dupree family. I am interested in seeing where her journey goes as a character after this reveal. I'm looking forward to her leaning on Dani and (also Anita/Vernon, etc...) for a change.
