January 19, 20196 yr Member McConnell, who has said repeatedly only bills with support of Trump and Dems can end shutdown, says he will hold vote on Trump proposal - even though Dems are rejecting it. “Everyone has made their point—now it’s time to make a law. I intend to move to this legislation this week”— Manu Raju (@mkraju) January 19, 2019 Told there’s increasing nervousness inside the White House that Trump’s gambit will fail with Dems, which seems clear at this point — but also that it will hurt him with his base, which has supported him thru shutdown.— Eliana Johnson (@elianayjohnson) January 19, 2019 Another thing Dems will cite to oppose the Trump plan https://t.co/hpI5WVfiTt— Manu Raju (@mkraju) January 19, 2019 Trump plan being rejected by elements of the right, including hard-line immigration group NumbersUSA. “The offer the President announced today is a loser for the forgotten American workers who were central to his campaign promises.“— Manu Raju (@mkraju) January 19, 2019 McConnell will have to file cloture and force a vote on Trump plan, which would bring senators who are all over the country to come back to Washington. But it has little chance of getting 60 votes to proceed. McConnell has been decrying “show votes” for the past few weeks— Manu Raju (@mkraju) January 19, 2019

January 20, 20196 yr Member I respect Gillibrand for owning her record. .@jaketapper: “If Trump’s immigration positions are racist, were they racist when you held some of those positions as well?” Gillibrand: “They certainly weren't empathetic. And they were not kind. And I did not think about suffering in other people’s lives.” https://t.co/GmSE5YVr27 — MJ Lee (@mj_lee) January 20, 2019 "Cohen has not addressed BuzzFeed’s reporting, and BuzzFeed has made clear he was not a source for its story." https://t.co/RH0Wblj07D — Maggie Haberman (@maggieNYT) January 20, 2019 With a combined 70 years of service on Capitol Hill, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer are the experienced, old school pols that many Democrats want leading them against a volatile president https://t.co/FjuxE2Dv8B — POLITICO (@politico) January 20, 2019 Trump’s proposal was a bid to appear reasonable, but in doing so he risked alienating his most ardent supporters — the people most enthusiastic about the wall — without actually winning over anyone. Worst of both worlds. https://t.co/hW4mTsC18H — Julie Davis (@juliehdavis) January 20, 2019 Rudy doesn’t say if Trump talked to Cohen about his testimony https://t.co/DDFfSoENVU — Manu Raju (@mkraju) January 20, 2019

January 20, 20196 yr Member Chris Wallace seems to be taking a harder and harder line against Trump and friends. I wonder if he will get any blowback. Weird to see Will Saletan saying that stuff as I mostly remember him writing a lot of contrarian and covert right-wing articles at Slate, usually about social issues.
January 20, 20196 yr Member And Gillibrand once had an A rating from the NRA. IMO, she's been very forthright about her previous political positions and why she changed them.

The other day, Shep Smith checked him after Wallace used the "Two to tango" line, by telling Him Trump is responsible for this entire horrid mess.

Yeah, I'm the last person to criticize people for moving to the left, I certainly have on immigration and some other issues too. More power to her I say. Whatever else Trump has done he has made certain lines clearer than they ever were.
January 21, 20196 yr Member Too bad this wasn't livestreamed. OK guys it's getting awkward up there! @RevDrBarber just called out @BillLeeTN. He just told everyone who doesn't support a wall, who wants universal healthcare to stand up. Lee did not. "If you can't stand up for that, then don't say you love Dr. King," he says to applause. — Natalie Allison (@natalie_allison) January 21, 2019
January 21, 20196 yr Member Well, it even says so in the Bible: "If you have done unto the least of these, you have done unto me." Now, you can't proclaim this nation to be a Christian nation, and then not provide for our poor. Otherwise, you are a hypocrite. AND GOD ABHORS A HYPOCRITE. Edited January 21, 20196 yr by Khan

January 22, 20196 yr Member The media is in full cleanup/damage control mode for those Kentucky boys and their hate school, so stories like this will never be told outside of Twitter. They still break your heart.

January 22, 20196 yr Member What happened to her brother is incredibly sad. There is also another article about a recent alumni (a student/athlete) being charged with rape and sodomy. Yes, there are other stories about the racist antics of these students toward kids at other schools, yet the deluded parents still insist that their kids are being painted negatively. These parents are pulling a Trump, which is why it seems effective with getting media to consider pulling back from reporting yet these are the same parents who publish their own children's names as attendees in these Right To Life marches.
