Watch the whole debate, everyone. It was unbelievable. I thought Trump would be able to clear the media's super-low bar here while Hillary's was incredibly high. He bombed from moment one. She was unflappable and smiling and he was falling apart.

That means you, Carl. It was one of the greatest things I've ever seen.

Heh. I'm picky. I don't think it was bad, and red is a good color on her. I just liked the black jackets and black pants better. But I will go on record saying I know nothing about fashion. My students have been trying to give me advice (both clothing and hair) for the last 8 years. A couple years ago, two actually gave me a list of stores to check out. So, I'm not in any position to judge.

I was worried about her coughing because I know the media would run with it if that happened. Meanwhile, I have a cold and while I was posting on the other site found myself coughing repeatedly... Was thinking, "Glad I'm not debating." I was coughing a lot at work today too; kids were actually concerned (or maybe they just wanted me to take a sick day, so they could get a sub - ha!).

Donald looked like he was on crack or losing his mind.

Ive legit never been more proud of Hillary Clinton than I am tonight. That was just a masterpiece performance for the ages. There were very small hiccups (2-4 at most) but compared to Donald it was non existant. Her performance at the last Benghazi hearing was almost as good as her debate performance tonight.

Just donated $20 to her campaign and I'm praying this moves the needle in her direction once again. All these Gary Johnson fools have to see what a danger he is. This is just not the time or year to flirt with third party and send this country into chaos.

Woah Chuck Todd is a hack? In what universe? Andrea Mitchell on the other hand def is just a product of DC hobknobbing and yes only has her job cuz of her husband. But let's not throw Chucky T into the usual lame stream media.

^^^ And I think a lot of the Gary Johnson voters are Bernie or Busters which is ridiculous because Hillary has practically the same views as Bernie. I guess they still believe the primary was rigged. Didn't Bernie say that at one point earlier in the primary? And then media was all about it after those DNC emails came out... Not going to say that email about wanting to use his religion against him was OK, but it was May... if you were going to rig something, wouldn't you try a lot sooner? And how do you rig it so that so many minorities are voting for her over Bernie but not the white crowd? And wouldn't you rig it so that it wasn't 34 contests to 23 and more like 50 to 7? /end of rambling

Edit: This pic from the beginning of the debate is great. She was so ready to roll.

No questions about emails other than a follow-up by Holt to Trump's nonsense about releasing his taxes if HRC releases her 33,000 deleted mails. She finally answered it in a few words that sounded fine and moved on. I am glad her team finally knows how to handle it.

It's clear Trump thought he was going to be able to get away with how he ran over everyone in the GOP debates. I thought Holt did a decent job and while he didn't fact check he did probe further with Trump when he didn't answer the question or babbled on. I thought the Birther stuff really caught him and I would have thought his campaign would have worked on a better response for him than the babbling he did. The deflection to HRC didn't even work IMO because I doubt 99 percent of the people watching knows who Sydney Blumenthal is.

Psst Roman: I agree with you on Chuck Todd

I don't think she coughed once or took a sip of water. meanwhile, Trump should have just took the entire pitcher and just glugged the whole thing. he was all over the place. all the fidgeting and jerking back and forth and the faces.....the world watched him tonight.

    • They're neither great nor terrible AFAIK, but it is more a question of the streaming numbers in this day and age vs. actual TV airings. The Chibnall era reminded me much more of the crisis years, but I do think it's a very real possibility now as well due to the streaming bubble collapse affecting the show and its prospects.
    • ANYTHING to get her off the screen..she COULD have been interesting if she and Van had a few face offs..(there was a mild one of her going back to work...but I wanted something meatier "Bitch, I am Vanessa Chamberlain and I don't take advice from someone who followed the..career path you did!" I did like Alex's outright disdain for her.
    • Thanks @Vee for the commentary.    I haven’t even watched this season yet after  I couldn’t get past the couple episodes last season…like it was too Disneyified for my taste, although I did think it was a least better than the Chibnall era (but so is a lot of things). I’ll probably go back and binge it now. Hoping this season ends on a high note. I did read the ratings are terrible. As it stands I’m beginning to feel like what long time DW fans felt with S26 in 1989.
    • Yes, they are all on contract. Next.
    • I also never understood Alex's friendship with Sonni or keeping the secret of Marah's paternity.  Not exactly heartbroken about Ms. Sally being ushered to the Hereafter.

I'm sorry but I'm a glutton for punishment. Would love to see this woman OWNING the canvas. Telling off Leslie who tells her she's the head b!tch.

Prior to the finale, the last Dallas episode to finish ahead of a new episode of Murder, She Wrote was October 23, 1987 (Tough Love). Prior to the finale, the last Dallas episode to finish ahead of a new episode of The Cosby Show was February 22, 1985 (Shattered Dreams).
    • 40 years ago this month, the best and most pivotal television season of the 1980s came to an end. Here’s how the rookie breakout and the four soaps wrapped up the season. The Cosby Show – Cliff’s Birthday (season 1 finale, May 9): Clair and the children surprise Cliff by planning a birthday celebration around a Lena Horne concert. Dallas – Deliverance (May 10): Bobby seeks evidence to free Jenna. The Ewings go confidently to court. Mitch asks Lucy to move in. J.R. wants Sue Ellen hospitalized. Dynasty - The Heiress (May 8): Krystle learns Daniel is dead. King Galen courts Alexis. Amanda sees Michael with Elena. Sammy Jo learns Krystle will handle her money and is furious about the decision. Knots Landing – One Day in a Row (May 9): Ben aids in Karen's search for Val's babies. Mack replies to the governor's offer. Ruth uses Abby to break up Laura and Greg. Falcon Crest – Cold Comfort (May 10): Fugitive Lance desperately searches for Lorraine, who lies comatose in a San Francisco hospital. Robin returns with startling news.   Dallas – Swan Song (season 8 finale, May 17): Jenna's release from jail depresses Pam. Sue Ellen thinks she saw Dusty. Donna tells Ray about her pregnancy. Cliff consults an attorney about an annulment. Lucy and Mitch remarry. Sudden tragedy strikes Bobby. Dynasty – Royal Wedding (season 5 finale, May 15): Sammy Jo makes her roommate look like Krystle. Elena reassures Amanda about her upcoming marriage. Terrorists come for the royal wedding of Prince Michael and Amanda. Falcon Crest – Confessions (May 17): Melissa confesses to framing Lance. Pamela gives Maggie proof that Richard bribed Judge Holder. Connie reveals her love for Chase. Knots Landing – Vulnerable (May 16): Ruth wants Abby to break up Greg and Laura. Karen makes a breakthrough in her hunt for Val's babies. Joshua hampers Val's recovery. Knots Landing – The Long and Winding Road (season 6 finale, May 23): Abby fears being linked to the disappearance of Val's babies. Laura leaves Greg. The Fishers are determined to keep Val's babies. Falcon Crest – The Avenging Angel (season 4 finale, May 24): Lorraine dies. Angela throws a victory party. Cassandra's mother arrives. An explosion rips through Richard's house. 1984/85 was the season the primetime soaps pulled out all the stops to out-do each other and everything culminated in the spring. May 1985 was the zenith of primetime soaps as a genre.
