October 10, 200817 yr Member http://welovesoaps.blogspot.com/2008/10/fu...on-youtube.html Friday, October 10, 2008Full Y&R Episodes on YouTube YouTube, the largest video-sharing Web site, has started to run full-length TV shows from CBS's archive, in its latest step to boost advertising revenue by adding professional programming. The site, owned by Google, said on Friday it was talking to other TV networks to sign similar deals to CBS. Many TV networks already run short clips on YouTube, which also offers millions of home videos uploaded by users. You can now watch full episodes of THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS on the CBS YouTube Channel. Until recently, you could only find occasional preview clips on the channel for all four CBS soaps. The new partnership will put YouTube in more direct competition with Hulu, the online video site owned by News Corp. and General Electric's NBC Universal.
October 10, 200817 yr Member FINALLY!!! It was about damn time! I'm so happy, I'll finally be able to watch the show when I miss it!
October 10, 200817 yr Member Now if only they start uploading old Y&R episodes, even better *(episodes start from as far back as Sep. 23)* Edited October 10, 200817 yr by YRBB

Now if only they start uploading old Y&R episodes, even better *(episodes start from as far back as Sep. 23)* YRBB, it has been possible to watch on cbs.com, msn.com, fancast.com for some time (same day and up to 7 days). Are you Canadian? Because I suspect, if yes, you will not be able to watch on Youtube. However, there is hope. As the Canadian TV Guide reported today, Global will be making Y&R and Days available for download now. I prefer the resolution, quality, widescreen, and new 'social forum' at CBS.com.

However, CBS, MSN and FANCAST just won't play for me when I'm at uni and I'm at uni 98% of my time So I had to make due with fans who uploaded episodes. That didn't go too well

Fan-loaded episodes do not compare! I played with the Youtube version for a minute, and it was quite cool..."darken lights" and "theater mode" existed. I was surprised it went back as far as 9/23. It would be AWESOME if they retained long-term archives.
October 10, 200817 yr Administrator So.....how further will Y&R's ratings fall now? Too bad international viewers won't be able to watch the CBS channel. Global is taking forever to put up the Y&R/DAYS episodes on their site.
October 11, 200817 yr Member It's working for me in Canada. Global is taking forever to add it to their site, but as of next week, they'll put DAYS/Y&R on Rogers on Demand.
October 11, 200817 yr Member Oooh good! No more using that crappy CBS player. I wish ABC would put their soaps online.
October 11, 200817 yr Member Now I'll finally be able to get my hands on some hq, logo-less, Y&R clips!
October 11, 200817 yr Member This is great! I HATE HATE the players on sites like CBS.com and Fancast and Hulu and such. With wireless, the internet connection periodically disconnects for like brief fragments of a second, so when it does, the streaming just stops and you have to go back and start downloading alllll over again. With YouTube and MegaVideo and such, I can just download the whole vid before even watching it...that way, if it just stops downloading, I can see that and just redownload. Here's to hoping that they put their "Dynasty" episodes on YouTube too! There's already a good bit from season 4, but I want the rest of my season 2! Edited October 11, 200817 yr by All My Shadows

Oh...so it is working for Canadians! Cool. Anyone have any tips on how to find the episodes? I've having a hard time. This is the channel, right? http://www.youtube.com/user/CBS searching: "Young and the restless" doesn't help - it takes you to old clips.

I searched "The Young and the Restless 9/23" and had to scroll down a bit to find a video (yesterday's episode). It's the whole episodes in one vid, too, so the runtimes are 38 minutes.

October 11, 200817 yr Member That didn't help I still can't find any eps. Really? Just a search for "young and the restless" brings up the 10/9 and 10/3 episodes. Here's a link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6saRk6wvDIs The other episodes are listed on the right. Oooooh, and now I found some of their "TV Classics" shows too! 9021-fuckin-0!!
