Can someone explain how exactly did the pick Slavkin & Swimmer to run this show?

I have NO idea, they sure didn't do much for Smallville the last few seasons they were there.

I think they're the names of actual streets in LA.

I've never seen Nightingale. Shoreline. Like Shoreline Drive?

After tonight's episode, it's obvious MP is in a holding pattern until Heather debuts. Nothing happened tonight. I did not like how Ella and Lauren were able to solve their problems and become bff all in one episode. I was having flashbacks of the original MP, season 1 where all the storylines were resolved in a single epi. Me no likey.

Oh Jessica Simpson, STFU!

Jessica Simpson Slams Melrose Place

The singer/ actress Tweeted: “CW catching up on MP. Who writes this crap? i have had bad scripts to work with, but this?

“Thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press.”

Ashlee- who is married to Fallout Boy singer Pete Wentz- was axed from the Place last month.

The younger Simpson sister was less angry than Jess and released a statement saying: “Having the chance to play Violet on Melrose Place has been a thrill.

“Although I always knew her story would come to a final, insanely unpredictable end, playing a creepy, unstable character was something I always wanted to do, so I jumped at the chance.

“Thanks to the CW and the entire cast and crew of Melrose Place for allowing me this opportunity

Can Heather Locklear save the CW’s Melrose Place? Maybe. Just don’t drop that heavy load on the lady herself, who’s only out to have a good time as she brings back Amanda Woodward, beginning with the November 17 episode.

Pooh-poohing such “savior” claims, Locklear tells tvguidemagazine.com, “That’s too much pressure. Hopefully they’re grateful to have me and I’m grateful to have them.”

What took her so long to agree to return? (Locklear was first offered to reprise her role in the series premiere.) “I’ve not been quite as successful on shows where I didn’t know what they were going to look like,” she says, referring to NBC’s 2004 clunker LAX. “It’s usually after the [launch] that I get on shows, and that’s a blessed thing for me…so I wasn’t sure. But after I saw the pilot and the second episode, I went nuts.”

Locklear, who is so far signed on for seven episodes, promises that the show keeps getting better. “Give it a chance,” she says. “Things are going to wrap up quicker and get very exciting! It’s so good. I really want to see it keep going.”

Amanda—who moves into the apartment complex and takes control of her WPK PR firm—will prove pivotal as the show wraps the “Who killed Sydney?” mystery and ushers out Ashlee Simpson-Wentz’s shrinking Violet. “Amanda’s just trying to clean up the mess that everybody makes,” teases Locklear. “She’s called a bitch, but she’s really not. She just wants to be on top.”

Another article where Shaun Sipos talks about Heather's return and the new tone

Amanda Woodward is back to her old scheming tricks – at least according to her Melrose Place co-star Shaun Sipos.

“She's conniving. She's back to the same old stuff. And she's such a pleasure to work with,” said Sipos of his co-star who’s no stranger to the apartment complex with the infamous address.

Die hard Melrose fans (circa 1990s, of course) have been anxiously awaiting the return of the devious diva ad exec – a much touted reprisal that Sipos said could boost the ratings from recent disappointing lows.

“There's a lot of appeal to her and she's an interesting woman to begin with, and she's had a really interesting life. And I also think that there is the whole nostalgia of the old show with her and she brings a lot of fans and a lot of people,” he said. “I mean, I ran into people that had no idea before the show even aired and I would say, ‘Melrose, are you going to watch it?’ And they're like, ‘I don’t know… If Heather comes on, I'll watch it.’’”

So let the catfighting begin — and it looks like between David Breck and the former live-in landlord.

“She's had some scenes where she knows things about me, she knows about my thieving,” Sipos told TV Guide Magazine at STK and Coco de Ville’s Mischief Night 2009 in West Hollywood. “She's kind of getting in my way. There's the whole triangle thing with my dad and with her. She knows Mancini and she wants something that Sydney had on her; [she] left something, so she's trying to twist my arm into finding it.”

With Colin Egglesfield and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz moving out and Locklear moving in, it marks a shift in the show’s tone going forward.

“I think it's going to be a little bit less of a bombardment of drama, I guess you can say; like really edgy events. I felt that in the show there were a lot of things going on, like a lot. I think that they’re going to kind of shift focus and sort of put more emphasis on certain characters,” said Sipos. “With less characters they’ll be a few less storylines, which I think will make the viewers able to really gravitate towards the characters that they like and to understand the stories that are going on in people's lives.”

One thing we can definitely expect to remain consistent — Dr. Michael Mancini’s rebellious son just can’t seem to stay out of trouble — and out of the bedroom.

“They haven't told me a whole lot,” said Sipos. “I do know that there is going to be someone trying to pressure me into dating them and really blackmailing me for things for thieving things.”

Why would Amanda move into an apartment? The only plausible reason is if she owns it. But still, why wouldn't she live in a luxury home. She's got the dough.

I'm very excited for Heather Locklear's return to MP. I can only hope this improves the ratings somehow, I really love this show.

I'm with you, Jonathan. If the 'W' in WPK stands for Woodward, why is she moving into an apartment? Doesn't make a lot of sense.

I have a question that's a little off-topic to the 2009 Melrose Place: Is there any networks that re-run episodes of the original Melrose Place? I know SoapNet lost the rights to it around this time last year. I'm trying to catch up on the entire first series and I recently bought the first two seasons on DVD, but wondering if it's on television somewhere.

Why is this show not doing better in the ratings? I find it SO watchable, moreso than Gossip Girl or 90210 this season, it's the only show I get excited about what will happen next (well, that and The Vampire Diaries). Is it just a case of poor timeslot or poor promotion?

Not sure why. There was some imo, underserved criticism about the show, and I think critics and non-viewers grabbed on to that without giving it a fair chance. The last episode was underwhelming though, but still better than a lot of crap on TV.

Sneak peak. I'm excited!

Heather seems different? I don't think it's plastic surgery, maybe she over did it with botox? It seems like she was delivering her lines differently too, like she couldn't get them out fast enough.
