Well, I'm gonna post some clips, and a synopsis will follow... if it's needed.

I'll say this, the transition from the awesome Bevan Lee and into the new writer, whose name escapes me atm, has been pretty good. There is one predictable and boring story - Who's the Daddy - involving Jack/Martha/Roman, but a part from that it's been OK. It's not Bevan, but it's still good.

This is a comical scene involving my all-time-favourite should've-be-permanent guest character, Jazz Curtis.

Oh I loved Jazz. She was a bitch but she had a real vulnerability to her that Holly Brisley wasn't really able to pull off in Amanda.

I've found the show pretty unwatchable recently if I'm honest. It started the year so, so well building up to Sally's departure and Johnny's murder but they really neglected to line anything up to keep the momentum going. The last time I watched, the uber-Christian mother of some new girl was holding a PTA meeting because she didn't like the curriculum that Miles was introducing to Summer Bay High.

Now I like the community stories as much as the next person but it seemed so derivative and flat in comparison. There's definitely been a very noteable shift back to teenage stories in the past couple of months.

Jazz was great, but for the actress that played her it was a completely different role than what she had on Blue Heelers.

Who's the daddy has been all stitched up, but I do feel for Martha as she is battling breast cancer. This friday is gone to be the last eppy for two weeks due to the Olympic, but this week promises to be good with Nicole's life being in danger.

Kane & Kirsty were my absolute favorite soap couple of all time. Sure, he raped her sister, but Kirsty redeemed him. The family was on Dani's side (and so began my hatred for Dani Sutherland, despite my love for her portrayer). It was a classic Romeo & Juliet storyline. KK just had that "it" factor, IMO, that no other soap couple has ever quite lived up to (although Nick & Phyllis come close).

    • Thanks for posting this, fascinating read. It's clear how ambivalent Wyndham is about Justine. IMO, it reads like she agrees that the end of the storyline was bad, but reading between the lines I think she thought she was doing good work for the meat of it....which was not the case. As bad as the writing for most of that story was, it was truly made worse by her embarrassing performance. After the story concluded she kept falling back into Justine ticks, when she wasn't phoning he scenes in. Not to play Freud, but was it to tr*ll her critics?

    • I love this more than any theory I've seen yet
    • I wonder what Dana and Hayley's first scene will be like. Dana has fear/contempt for Bill, but I can imagine Hayley being curious to meet her.
    • Daphne was just FANTASTIC today. I know people wanted histronics and it may still come but she was pitch perfect today. As much as I like Maurice she's gonna need someone just as strong now and it's just not him
    • Today's episode was one of my favorites so far! TT's Anita standing up to Dana was perfect. I was surprised with how restrained Dani was, in some scenes, I forgot she was there. The ending "Amazing Grace" montage was brilliant. I like how Vernon's reason complements Anita's emotion. DD was terrific portraying her mixed sense of betrayal and humiliation. I liked her comment about how she condescended to Dani after her breakup with Bill, unaware that she was also married to a cheater. I am going to miss MJ as Ted and I don't agree with the criticisms of his acting. His conduct on social media is a different story. I agree that BC's Martin has come into his own. He and MM have also discovered some chemistry which allows them portray a believable couple. Eva is the most empathetic character for me. Seeing get locked out of the apartment was heartbreaking. I also liked that the writing for Kat has been much more nuanced than one might have expected just weeks ago. I liked the expression on Kat's face at the end when she was embracing Nicole. Kat has probably never seen her calm, poised mother so upset. CM's face portrayed a sense of discomfort now that the carer/child roles have been somewhat reversed. I believe now more than ever that Kat is Ted and Dana's child. Eva is Ted and Nicole's child. Dana switched them as insurance - if Bill came after her to take or harm Eva, Dana would reveal that Eva was actually a Dupree, giving her some protection. She would also be secure in the fact that her birth daughter Kat was ensconced in the privilege and security of the Dupree family. The way Dana raised Eva - "weaponizing" her instead of nurturing her as a loving mother - also aligns with this theory.
    • @Paul Raven - thanks for reviewing the content for accuracy.  You know, the nice thing about AI is that you can teach it things, so I am having it review the classic AMC Tumblr to increase its accuracy.
