I think there was only one (!) story about rape for the first twenty years of the show, and that wasn't even shown on screen, just talked about after it happened. I'm not sure they were very clear about her being raped, I think it was more implied (I could be wrong, its been a while since I watched those very early episodes), but nevertheless it happened.
