At Y&R, Jack Allocco and David Kurtz have been replaced by Sharon Farber and Rick Krizman.

This makes me vomit. Hard.

I have been hearing that Y&R has been using pre-JFP music. Is that true? I do wonder if JFP is getting fired if it is true.

Well, after the Emmy's I do wonder if she'll be afforded a little more time?

As for the pre-JFP music, I can't say I've noticed. It all still sounds very blah. That and the change in produdtion are two of the biggest mistakes made. The writing could (in effect) be masked/less obvious if the aestetic essence of Y&R remained. Only a bit though.

Y&R's backgournd music has always been so different, lots of dark, moody pieces that just go so perfectly with the darker lighting and everything. One of my favorites from the 70's is this one..... it starts at 1:16

I can't believe crazy brenda banned this! I thought she hated Y&R!!!

There's no question; Y&R has definitely been using pre-JFP music. In addition, some of the recently-written music sounds more like the Y&R stuff we liked from the past.

Yes, for a time, the old Y&R music cues completely disappeared, and the new music was awful. But that's changed, and I wish people would stop parroting what they said a year ago. The music has improved dramatically from what we heard a year back.

Do you believe the Ed Scott/Kay Alden rumors?

Do you believe the Ed Scott/Kay Alden rumors?

I don't know if the rumors or true, but regardless, I don't think the music has anything to do with those rumors.

I don't believe JFP is making changes because she knows Ed Scott and Kay Alden are returning.

OMG! That was a wonderful treat. Yet another reminder of the power of Y&R's classic music and it's awful, heartbreaking absence from today's shows. God how I wish they'd release all these cues.

That's a really cool clip. The woman screaming always reminded me of Pyscho. And in the Jill shooting storyline of 1986, they had this sound effect of a gun being cocked embedded into the music,

Someone please tell me why that man even has a job? The music on Y&R now is downright awful. And it's always the same [!@#$%^&*] lackluster chords taking us to commercial and the end credits. And how can HE listen to THAT and think his score is okay?

Exactly.

That music was such apart of Y&R.

Today's stuff is so generic.

One of the treats of MABs Y&R was bringing so much of the old music back. Thanks JFP for getting rid of it again.

Isn’t Dobson just the music coordinator and RC Gates of GH is the composer???

Just to set the record straight, SONY sold off the music rights to all of their tv shows and movies back then. That had nothing to do with JFP.
