Members DRW50
RIP Kate O'Mara. http://boards.soapoperanetwork.com/topic/50456-rip-kate-omara-cassandra-morrell-alexis-sister-on-dynasty/
Members amybrickwallace
I just heard that. How sad.
Members slick jones
Such a shame. I always thought they could have done better with her character. She was a great actress.
Members YRBB
They could have done better with almost everything in seasons 3-8. Edited March 30, 2014 by YRBB
Members Khan
IKR? S2 was good, if over-the-top at times. By the time S3 rolled around, though, it's like they forgot everything that had improved DYNASTY.
Members Jagger1966
I thought Kate O'Mara was a great addition to the cast, but the show just didn't know what to do with her. Looking back now that seemed to be a common problem with that show.
Members Khan
It was as if the writers and producers thought the shock of the news alone ("ALEXIS' SISTER HITS DENVER!!!") was enough.
Members amybrickwallace
Classic case of great idea, shaky (at best) execution.
Members Khan
I have no idea whether this is true or not, but I feel like one reason why the story was quashed was b/c it hit too close to home for Joan Collins, whose sister, as we all know, is a bestselling novelist.
Members DRW50
I felt like the show panicked over ratings losses and canned everything going on in that season.
Members SFK
Well, I don't think that's why the s/l was quashed per se, but it certainly seems to be an art imitates life factor in the fabrication of the Caress character. At any rate, I find Ms. O'Mara's passing quite depressing. First Ben, and now Caress. Getting older sucks. Dynasty was such a magical moment in television history, almost in particular for those of us who were children of the eighties, dazzled by our parents' Wednesday night program. These loses truly hurt. Edited March 31, 2014 by SFK

Members DRW50
Joan on The Talk a few days ago. You can't see it here but when she walked in they played the Dynasty theme music. http://www.cbs.com/shows/the_talk/video/aGBRpeRI8Mpwggn82R1Kl_w6zIoBE_21/the-talk-talk-with-joan-collins-/ Fun interview, and she looked great. I loved her dress. She was a bit bawdier than I'd expected - when they asked her to choose between Blake Shelton and Blake Carrington, she joked that it was an easy choice, because Blake Carrington is dead!

Members Khan
Just say it, Mr. Howard: you're embarrassed to be on a soap opera.
