Season 3 started off strong with the kidnapping of Little Blake with Claudia being a red herring.. and the scenes between Pamela Sue Martin and Pamela Bellwood on the rooftop were quite strong.

And the bombshell that Alexis and Blake had a baby that was kidnapped helped explain why the two started to grow apart over the years because a loss of child is a hard thing to come back from. And Adam seemed promising when he was introduced.

Also having Kirby coming on continued the Have Not element that had been a thing for the show since season 1 and she was played by a good actress.

Sadly.. the show devolved into over the top plot drivel instead of maintaining the character study of the first two seasons as season 3 continued.

God I can't watch this show sober... IT'S SO WILD. Hahahhahaah. Alexis's every. single. word. is PURE MANIA. 😄 She was sooooo before her time... All the real housewives can't hold a candle to her.

"I ASKED YOU A question! WHAT are you doing here!"👿

"I was invited."🥹

"BY WHOM?!"🤬

Seasons 1 and 2 and early 3 are television gold for me. It’s truly a tragedy how plot driven it became. And very few shows learned this lesson in the decades to come.

Season 1 is so underrated. I love it. Season 2 is wild, but in a good way. I think 90 percent of shows during that time tried in one way or another to copy the magic of Dynasty's second season. It's like the template. Then season 3 is entertaining, but signs of bad health are already there... From then onwards it becomes such trash that it's shocking it had so many seasons. I haven't seen the episodes in years, but I remember hating so much of the later seasons. I have to do a rewatch sometime in the future.

I literally get a headache watching the later seasons, it’s so devastating. I don’t mind the wild plots, it just lacks anything involving the word character.

I feel like there's a point in DYNASTY's run when the Shapiros and their team don't even BOTHER with storytelling anymore. Instead, just characters saunter into rooms, spout arch dialogue to each other and then saunter back out.

I've never heard or read more accurate description than this in my life. Wow.

Yet, when they DO attempt to tell a story, it's something so incredibly stupid - like that Krystle/Rita bullshit - that you hate they even bothered, lol.
