I'm about seven or eight episodes into season 6, and I find myself actually enjoying this season more than season 5. I'm a sucker for an over-the-top doppelganger storyline, and the Krystle/Rita plot is pure camp!

The Colbys' inclusion for the most part aren't so bad... other than Emma Samms as Fallon. Good Lord, her constant, "Why can't I remember?!?" cries are obnoxious. And it's kind of jarring, how Pamela Sue Martin's hair was generally straight and flat, while Samms' is a giant poof of curls on her head.

I love watching Heather Locklear getting older and slowly morphing into what eventually became Amanda Woodward of 4616 Melrose Place :)

Michael of Moldavia has been a weinie twit since day one.

I've been re-watching this series once again now that it's on Amazon. i have it on DVD (bootleg) and with moving I lost my place somewhere in season six so I decided it was time to re-watch from the beginning in good quality. I'm currently in season two so the show is still good and I'm genuinely enjoying it. Alexis in season two is just sublime. Her style is unbeatable. I truly live for her here. With that said, I realized in all these years I've NEVER watched the reunion so I finally decided to do that. Now I knew it wasn't good just from reviews and fan accounts, but watching it I didn't think it was that bad. Some characters, like Fallon, are wasted, but overall it was decent Dynasty, typical of the middle years. It was over the top and glam and had humor and mystery and intrigue. I was okay with it. I expected half the characters to be out of character because thats what these writers do. One change I would've made is have Blake re-married to Sable while Krystal was in a coma and use that as your triangle instead of Miles and Jeff with Fallon. Miles wasn't needed AT ALL. But overall I'm glad I decided to watch it.

I don't suppose The Reunion is included with the Season Nine DVD?

(Which reminds me, weren't there multiple reunion specials of Dallas throughout the 90's?)

PopTV stopped airing Dynasty a few weeks ago when they brought on Dawson's Creek, but they assure it via Twitter that it will be returning. They keep mum when I ask about Melrose Place though...

The Reunion movie has never been available on DVD. I would have thought after the last season was released it would come out separately but so far nothing.

The Dallas reunion specials are on DVD….happy about that!

I wondered what happened to Dynasty. I need to start seeing some more Dynasty on DVD.

No, and I still wonder what conversations were had among the Shapiros, Spelling, and ABC about this.  Did they just not care?  They wanted an Alexis-like character for The Colbys, and I suppose it would have been cheesy and terribly transparent to hire another Brit and not expressly tie her to Alexis.  It's especially odd when Miles shows up with amnesiac Fallon aka his new bride Randall and Sable is practically salivating at the fact that Miles has married Blake Carrington's daughter... also your FIRST COUSIN's daughter.

However, when Monica and cousin Jeff start a flirtation, Alexis says no worries because Sable was raped and Monica and Miles aren't Jason's biological children anyway.  Scandal!

    • Am I remembering correctly that the Madison's lived in a Spanish revival-style house? I have a vague recollection of the fireplace looking especially Spanish in style. It is unusual that Montecello had so many architectural styles.  Obviously, that might occur IRL.  But, look at other east coast soaps and there is a definitive style that is throughout (because it was styled by a set decorator) regardless of the income of the occupants.
    • @kalbir MSW was a powerhouse for CBS. Angela Lansbury was a superb actress. In 1985, TV viewers were tiring of the primetime soaps and the like. People wanted storytelling and MSW was great at that and had great guest stars. Storytelling -- an amazing and novel concept. CBS Daytime by 1985 was beating ABC so CBS was on the upswing.
    • I'd say just the opposite - conflict means they will find out and then be at odds. For the limited amount of time people on this show have conflict (if they aren't named Nina or Ric, I guess).
    • Totes mcgoats (aka I agree). But, now the character needs to move forward.  Clyde's exit was 12/11/24.  It is May.  She and Chad have been on one date. I don't think they've slept together. And she was only planning on sticking around for a year.
    • That is one of the best insults I've heard in a long time.  I burst out laughing when Kat called Eva that.  LOL Their scenes, of course, were really good.  Colby and Ambyr have so much chemistry.  The only thing I'd change is Kat saying "you're dead to me."  That's a phrase usually said about someone you care about.  I would've preferred something like "You will never be my sister," or something similar to that.  Nice contrast at the end with both mothers/daughters:  Kat comforting/consoling her mother, and Eva being locked out by her mother.  Yeah, I wasn't a big of fan of the singing either, especially after your daughter's life has been destroyed.  What?  LOL And I also agree with those that thought Dana/Leslie's scenes with the Dupree's didn't feel right since Eva is not a Dupree....unless she is.  But as of right now, she's not.
    • Trisha Mann-Grant, Ambyr Michelle, Sean Freeman are destined for bigger and better things. They need to move on as soon as their initial contracts are done.
    • Daphnée Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant on Instagram live, 5/5/2025 just concluded, saved here https://www.instagram.com/p/DJSsYb7PDv8/
    • I really need to see Anita in a scene that isn't with a family member. In fact, I would have preferred that she would have gotten rid of the mob and had a one on one with Leslie to lay down the law with her.  I'm going to say it, Mike Manning has been completely lifeless on this show. Other than people's superficial fondness for him, I don't get what they see in him as an actor. I never saw him on DAYS though. The show had another really strange cut right before the opening credits where it looked like they almost cut off Nicole mid-sentence.  Kat/Eva are carrying this show on their backs. Lock them in for lifetime contracts, I beg.
    • There's a 1980 scene of Victor and Katherine in the Chancellor Estate living room where they went over a contract that would put Victor in charge of Chancellor Industries, but it was rewritten that Katherine brought Victor to Genoa City so he could run Chancellor Industries.
    • Put me in the minority in being happy about Cat not being Abby. After the two adult recasts played tag with the role, it's time for a few years of rest. I have a huge list of things I hate about RC's writing, but that choice was not one of them.
